Tokyo Niboshiya Honpo — Restaurant in Tokyo

I saw the 海賊王 abura soba advertisements outside the store as I was passing by, so I decided to give it a try. And wow! It did NOT disappoint! Super super super!

First of all, the chashu tasted amazing. It had a soft texture, and I loved how it melted in my mouth after every bite! This was some fine slow-cooked chashu and it went very well with the sauce.

The rich miso sauce was a perfect match for the chewy noodles. I loved how the noodles became even more flavorful after adding fried garlic pieces - it was a bit of a surprise to my tastebuds (a very pleasant surprise)! And on top of that, the onsen egg and the seaweed went very well with the noodles.

I never got bored of the noodle’s taste after every bite. It is quite rare that I experience this sensation of never getting bored while eating, and only a handful of restaurants have ever been able to give me this sensation. This store is definitely one of them!

Once again, thank you for the amazing food. The average rating of 4/5 stars is, in my opinion, an injustice and an inaccurate reflection of the quality of the food served here! I will definitely try other dishes on the...

Really interesting twist on your typical ramen / tsukemen joint. The house special here is a soupless bowl of warm noodles, tossed in dressing, with your usual ramen toppings as well as a huge pile of baby whitefish (believe it's called shirasu aburasoba, but am not 100% on that).

You mix it all together and the result is really quite delicious. While it looks like an overwhelming amount of fish when you get it, the flavor is actually surprisingly subtle and makes the bowl go down pretty smooth.

There are several other options on the menu as well, including more traditional Ramen soups, but this seems the more interesting way to go, and was what most of the restaurant was eating when...

What a treat. A simple abura soba (油そば) that packs on the flavor. You can pick the flavor you want in terms of oil, and there are 4 options. I went with the ブシ増し (bonita taste). When mixed and combined with vinegar and other condiments, it was delicious. And the pork belly was so tender and tasty. I’ll be back to try the other flavors as well. The service was fantastic....
