Disappointing Experience Despite High Ratings!!

I was drawn to this restaurant due to its high rating, only to discover that the reviews are likely inflated by incentivizing customers to share positive feedback. Unfortunately, my experience was far from what the glowing ratings suggested.

Service: Slow and Disorganized The service was painfully slow, with a wait time of 20-30 minutes despite there being only 2-3 occupied tables on average. It appeared that most of the staff were new and undergoing training, leaving just one experienced employee to handle everything. This lack of efficiency made the entire experience frustrating.

Food: Mediocre with Hygiene Issues While the food flavor was passable, I encountered a serious hygiene issue—a hair was stuck in my dish. When I pointed it out, the staff initially tried to remove it without acknowledging the problem, which was incredibly unprofessional and unacceptable.

Billing: Overcharged To top it off, I was initially overcharged for my meal. Although they refunded the excess amount after I brought it to their attention, this added another layer of disappointment to an already subpar experience.

I saw a long queue for this taiyaki and thought it must be good. After Q-ing for 30 mins, i realise the reason for the long Q was because it takes quite some time to prepare each batch for selling. Nevertheless, when we reached our turn to order, we ordered the red bean with butter. It was still hot and fresh with the butter melting to blend with the red bean inside. It was good! The butter with red bean paste was a combination i never thought would tastes so good combined with the fish shaped pan cake. The long Q was so that the taiyaki is served hot and fresh, allowing the stick of butter to melt in. I had an incredible time at this Monja restaurant! The Squid Ink Monjayaki was absolutely outstanding—it was rich, savory, and a truly unique dish that I highly recommend trying. Beyond the delicious food, the atmosphere was fantastic; it had a lively, welcoming vibe that made the whole experience enjoyable.
