Bitterly disappointed. Don’t believe the google rating. We thought a 4.5 would be a great dinner meal option. We ordered what is described as overflowing fish rice bowl/box. It wasn’t a cheap option (2800yen), however we were disappointed with what we received. Firstly the rice was dry and hard, you had trouble separating it. There was one truly great piece of fatty tuna and a few small pieces of other fish, with some salmon roe and some small sea urchin pieces. Service was friendly. You order at the counter, and when I asked for a sake recommendation I got offered what I wanted. This was a good sake. Atmosphere was average at best. The tables are more for standing than sitting, with no leg room if you perch on the stools provided. They offered free sake for reviews. I couldn’t bring myself to ask for it, as I knew a bad review was coming. I wish I had gone somewhere else. I previously have never been disappointed this much from a 4+ google...

I visited Kome Sumi in Toyosu Market and had a great experience. It's a stand-up bar located at the very back of the building, and the staff's service was excellent despite being busy. The cheerful young man at the entrance, the smiling cashier, the friendly lady calling out order numbers, and the attentive man at the wash station all made the visit enjoyable. The cooking staff also worked hard in the busy kitchen.
There's a spot to charge your devices, which is a thoughtful touch. If they offered the drinks in full or half bottles to purchase, it would be even better. Though it's a bit far back, it's a perfect spot to relax and have a drink...
