Starbucks Coffee - Tsukuba Gakuen-no-Mori — Restaurant in Tsukuba

Recently a lot of Starbucks are putting in smaller, even tiny, tables when refurbishing, so I was pleasantly surprised to see that this brand new shop has the larger size tables of before. There are about 8 or 9 two-person square tables, in addition to four 4-person round tables. The 2-person tables have plenty of room to use my laptop and books, papers, etc. at the same time. There is a long “community” table with slightly higher chairs and electrical outlets for those who want to plug in their devices. On both sides toward the back there are sections of lounge-type seating that looks comfortable for kicking back with friends or family, but the tables are smallish. 本日、スターバックスのドライブスルーでワッフルを購入しました。その後、店内に入りコーヒーを注文する際に、ワッフルを温めていただけるかお願いしたところ、「できません」とシンプルに断られてしまいました。代替案の提案や助けようとする姿勢も見られず、少し残念に感じました。

対応が失礼だったわけではありませんが、大手ブランドであるスターバックスに期待するような基本的な親切さやお客様への思いやりが欠けていたと感じます。

些細なリクエストかもしれませんが、それに応えていただけるかどうかで、顧客体験は大きく変わります。スターバックスには、より丁寧で協力的な接客をスタッフに指導していただきたいです。お客様が大切にされていないと感じれば、再来店をためらう方も出てくると思います。

I visited the Starbucks drive-thru and bought a waffle. Later, when I went inside to get a coffee, I politely asked the staff if they could warm up the waffle. Unfortunately, they simply refused, saying they couldn’t do it, without offering any alternative or showing willingness to help.

While the response wasn’t rude, it lacked the basic courtesy and customer-friendly attitude that one expects from a brand like Starbucks. It’s disappointing when staff members are unwilling to assist with small requests that could make a big difference in the customer experience.

Starbucks should ensure their team is more supportive and respectful towards customers. If people feel ignored or unvalued, they won’t feel like...
