Our experience at the matcha roastery in Uji was great! To start, the shop isnât too far from bus stops as well as the Uji train station meaning that it is convenient to get to. The location is also at a side street making it a peaceful place to enjoy a snack or drink at. When you get to the restaurant, you will find a modern and clean atmosphere with nature and scenery. However, it is worth noting that there are not too many tables in the main restaurant meaning that depending on the time of dining, you may have to take-away your food or drink. When ordering, the staff service is amazing and they are all happy to help you with the ordering process as well as any queries you may have. Lastly for the food, my lightly roasted matcha latte was great! The flavour from the roasted matcha tea is special and canât be found at other shops in the area. Personally, I found that the roasted flavour combined with the milk made the latte a bit sweeter than at some other shops in the area. Overall, I believe that this place is worth a try if youâre looking for matcha that stands...
Read moreThis is a long review hehe I just want to share my experience in this cafĂ© 𫶠I wanted to sit down, relax and CHARGE my phone lol after a long walk around UJI đ so I searched google san for places where I can charge my phone. This cafĂ© appeared so I went to find it. When I arrived, I immediately ordered food (I got Hojicha latte and Cheese cake 10/10 both are really good I swear!) but what I appreciate the most is the service of the staff in this cafĂ©. I thought I brought my charger with but I didn't know I left it in my hotel room đđ„č so, I told the staff I wanted to leave my table for few minutes to buy a charger (coz I donât wanna get lost in Kyoto lol) the staff told me to wait and when she came back she offered me her charger đđ„č I really appreciate them a lot. đ„čđ they can speak English so thatâs another âïž...
Read moreLove the place! Wasnât crowded and staff were very friendly and fluent in English. Owner came to talk to the customers - he was very sweet and shared about how their tea is roasted differently which results in a much gentler taste that is less bitter (perfect for me as I have a sweet tooth and dislike bitterness)
Ordered matcha chiffon cake and 2 drinks.
Roast matcha lemon squash was a good refreshing drink (the matcha taste was really mild, so matcha lovers may prefer something stronger, but I like it regardless!)
Matcha sweet bean latte was sweet and had a stronger matcha taste than the squash, thereâs also an option to get it with oat milk for 50/100yen, but i got it as it is - super delicious!
Matcha chiffon cake was light and the matcha lingers in the aftertaste - pretty good...
