Menmen — Restaurant in Utsunomiya

Utsunomiya is famous for gyoza, but a whole meal of just gyoza is a bit much for me, so I chose this place because it also has ramen and Japanized Chinese fare. On a Saturday night, we were just able to squeeze in an hour before closing with a short wait. Lunchtime appears busy and there are rules like no playing games designed to keep people from lingering unnecessarily. We ordered their gyoza (with crispy pan-fried 'wings'), salt ramen, fried rice, fried chicken, and stir-fried eggs and mushrooms for about 3000 yen total. It was all tasty, if unavoidably greasy and salty -- but in a good way, not disgustingly so....
