CoCo Ichibanya — Restaurant in Yamagata

Tasty curry as always from CoCo Ichibanya.

However, this branch loses a couple of stars for the following reasons:

1 - they got my order wrong. I ordered the hire•sasami kare (which comes with one pork cutlet and one chicken tender), but I received the sasami kare (no pork, just two chicken tenders). Still tasty. Still enjoyable. But... not what I ordered.

2 - I attended with a friend who had enjoyed the CoCo garlic/cheese naan at another branch, but this branch’s menu lacked this item. It seems strange to not have items that are available at other locations.

CoCo Ichi never disappoints, especially this particular store in Yamagata! 🍛✨ The staff were incredibly sweet and kind, and also extremely helpful and patient when we asked for help calling a taxi back to our hotel. They helped us out with zero hesitation. 🥹While waiting, the staff gave us fuzzy blankets to keep us extra comfortable, and waved us goodbye as we drove away.😭💟

We came back tonight (this time with a hire car 😎) and the staff remembered us, and were just as wonderful as our first time there. 🫶 Just this CoCo Ichi alone makes me want to return to...

ココイチなんて久しぶり。

カレーが・・・高い。

【手仕込キャベツメンチカツカレー】 キャベツがゴリゴリと目に見えて入っているメンチカツの、衣をザクっと砕くのが楽しい。見た目の珍しさはあったものの、食感や味的にキャベツ感は薄かったかな。普通に美味しく頂きましたが、どこかヘルシーな気持ちに救われてる感じ。

あと、久しぶりに食べたココイチカレーは、思いの外辛くてびっくりです。ご飯小盛で、丁度良い感じで腹に収まりました。

【トマトタンドリーチキンカレー】 濃厚なインド感漂う真赤なカレー。チキンをひとつ頂きました。柔らかくてウマウマ。

【お子さまカレーハンバーグ】 ハンバーグとコーン、ゼリーとジュースが付いているお子様カレー。小学何年生までこれが許されるのだろうかと。もらったコインでガチャがしたいがために選んでいたような。

久しぶりのココイチカレーは、思い出した時に食べたくなる専門店の味でした。...
