"Shoya Yamanokago – Comforting Shabu & Refreshing Cold Soba in the Heart of Nature"

If you're looking for a cozy and delicious dining experience near Mt. Fuji, Shoya Yamanokago is a must-visit. This charming restaurant serves up hearty shabu-shabu with fresh ingredients and flavorful broth that warms you from the inside out — perfect after a long day of sightseeing.

But don’t miss their cold soba noodles – they’re light, refreshing, and served with a perfectly balanced dipping sauce that makes every bite satisfying. It’s the kind of simple, authentic Japanese flavor that leaves a lasting impression.

The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with traditional decor and views that remind you you're in one of Japan’s most scenic areas. Whether you're dining with family or just refueling for your next adventure, Shoya Yamanokago offers a perfect mix of comfort food and...

Came on a quiet Tuesday morning the day after a major snowfall in the area. The whole town was dead, hardly anyone around, and most places were closed. We were actually trying to go to the place next door, but they were closed and Shoya was opened, so we went there. It was actually my original choise when planning to visit this town, but my wife wanted ramen, but when that restaurant was closed we came here. Was my first time trying horse sashimi, and also first time trying hoto. Horse sashimi was great, no weird smell or taste, and hoto set was huge.. It's like an individual hotpot.. Very full and very delicious. Love the hoto noodles... Might be my favorite now and ahead of Udon, which I love.

Thank you. Very chill atmosphere when it was only a few people around, and the burning wood stove gave a cool feel to a snowy...

We came because of the good reviews but we think because we are tattoed tourist the Service neglected us.. We got the place to sit fast but we waited like half an hour to take an order because nobody came to us. Two familys which arrived after us was served directly, could take their order and got their food immediately. As the Service finally recognized us she apologized a lot but the the next Thing, I think they forgot the order of my husband. I got my food but my husband had to wait another 20 Minutes till He got his food and we were running out of time. It's a beautiful traditional Ambiente in Front of the Lake with free Parking in Front of the Shop and the food was really delicious never mind it's a 5 /5 ! The prices are really good for the Biig portion. but we sadly waited way tooo long as neccessary and no English...
