Terrific breakfast cafe on main street of Shibu Onsen, they open at 6AM to serve skiers and other early birds in the area. English menu is available.
The coffee is a superb blend created by the shop’s owner and is brewed a cup at a time with an AeroPress. This is one of the very few AeroPress cafes in Japan.
The variety of items is impressive! I’ve already had the filling “YAMANOUCHI COFFEE Breakfast Plate” the multiple types of overnight oats, the sandwiches, the salad, the daily soup (it was squash potage yesterday), the Blueberry-Apple-Banana Smoothie, and the Massaman curry.
Almost all of the menu items are locally grown, or produced locally.

The highlight of my visit was the wonderful staff. The person working there was incredibly kind and helpful, going out of their way to ensure a great experience. They even spoke English, which made communication easy and added to the welcoming feel.
