Arabella アラベッラ — Restaurant in Yokosuka

Hesitant to post this is in English in case they’re overwhelmed with foreign customers but…wow. Ordered a burger set with fries and drinks, they kindly cut the burger in two and gave extra fries, which was already very nice. But then they offered to make our drinks ‘strong’ for no extra price. When they say strong, they are NOT messing about. Made my eyes water. They took pity on us and then added more soda and mixer to water it down; essentially giving us a free drink. Even then it was still strong. So, amazing value, good food and nice music...

Weirdly rude elderly staff that treats every foreigner like they are a walking, entitled person from the US/navy person? So strange. Absolutely tasteless "spicy" burger, overpriced as well. Bottom bun hard as hell. Mediocre fries. They even "explain" the menu which has actual text on it. People can read. Do not go here if Tsunami next door is busy. Just pick anywhere else. Buuut, my friend told me the last time he went, the taste was miles better. I wonder what happened in a year? Do not recommend. At least we got a good...

おいしい食べ物。 場所は楽しくて安いです delicious Food. The place is fun and cheap フレッシュハーブ香るバーガー！

墓参りの後に昼食・・・本当は横須賀の相模湾で獲れる極上の生しらすを頂こうと思っていたけど不漁により入荷が無いと・・・ 発想の転換でハンバーガーを食べようと横須賀のネイビーベース（米軍基地）方面へ向かう・・・

ネイビーベースは、高校生時の夏休みの時にベース内の建物の清掃とか、あの空母ミッドウェイの船内の清掃のアルバイトをした思い出がある・・・ 空母ミッドウェイは1992年に退役して今では2004年にサンディエゴ港の海軍埠頭に係留し、ミッドウェイ博物館として開館しています・・・

さて、ネイビーベースのエントランス前の16号腺裏にあるどぶ板通りへ・・・ 僕が子供の頃には無かったが、現在では横須賀の町興しで「横須賀海軍カレー」や「ネイビーバーガー」などで盛り上げようとしている！

ネイビーバーガーの人気店のTSUNAMI（ツナミ）は行列・・・その隣にあるArabella(アラベラ)というグリル＆バーに入店！

厨房にいるのは複数の外国人で、日本人店員はホール係の１人だけ・・・

アラベラはケバブなどの中東の料理がメインながらも、横須賀のネイビーバーガーブームに便乗してか？アメリカ料理のハンバーガーにも力を入れている様子！ ただし、アメリカンバーガーと違うのはパティが牛肉かラム肉が選べるところで中東風のバーガーを提供し差別化している・・・

そしてこの店の入店の決め手はフィリーチーズステーキがメニューにある事！ Philly...
