I want to preface what I’m about to say by highlighting that the staff was awesome. Super friendly, hard working, very attentive. They clearly care about their work- nothing negative to say about them.

With that said, the food here is absurdly priced given its mediocre quality. I mean $15 for 2 eggs with some toast and potatoes? Even with inflation that’s wild…

The portion sizes are very generous though, so I suppose you could say you’re paying for 2 meals if you end up taking half of it home (as I’m sure most of their customers do) but to be crystal clear, you are paying for quantity, not quality.

I would stack this place up against Dennys or IHOP in terms of flavor. Not bad, definitely edible, but not nearly worth what they’re charging.

There’s definitely something to be said for paying more to support a small business but there are other family owned breakfast places - some literally a few blocks away - where you can get the same or better food for a far lower price.

I got the biscuits and gravy, which came with 2 eggs and some hash browns. After tax it was over $20. The biscuits were flavorless and dense. The “sausage” gravy has no visible or tastable sausage in it, and there was barely enough to even top the biscuits… I ask you, when is the last time you got Biscuits and Gravy somewhere where the biscuits weren’t fully dredged and swimming in gravy? If you can still see biscuit when the plate comes, you’re being ripped off. If you finish the gravy before you finish the biscuits, you’re being ripped off.

My girlfriend ordered a breakfast burrito and was equally unimpressed. For 2 of us, No coffee or drinks other than water, no sides or substitutions, it was over $40.

To add insult to injury we had to wait 30 min to eat ihop quality food at 5 star hotel prices.

I get the impression this place kind of caters to wealthy Rincon Valley residents who are older, don’t really cook, maybe don’t really taste so well anymore, and just want a place to hang out and chat with the friendly staff.

If that’s you, great, enjoy it. Like I said, the staff is super friendly and attentive. But if you’re looking for an actual good breakfast at a fair price, go to Hanks, or even Denny’s/IHOP. You’ll pay far less and get food that’s as good or better.
