Caffe Ristorante Italia — Restaurant in St. Helier

My partner and I had a wonderful meal at this restaurant. The service was warm, the décor very welcoming, and the food delicious. My partner had the pate for his starter while I had the melanzane parmigiana... Perfectly flavoured, beautifully seasoned, and very hearty. For the mains we had the seafood linguine and chicken in Marsala and tarragon, respectively, and they were both outstanding. The portions were huge but yet each element of each dish was fresh, perfectly cooked, and expertly put together. Although we were quite full in the end, we shared the home made tiramisu for dessert.. again, an extremely generous portion, and a very good choice indeed. All in all, I highly recommend this restaurant for a delicious meal in an authentic Italian restaurant in St Helier. The only suggestion for improvement would be to serve slightly better bread with the pate (instead of toasted sliced supermarket bread! But perhaps they ran out...) Our thanks to the staff and owners for a excellent last meal on our Easter...

If you want italian food, do yourself a favour and walk 50m past this restaurant to any other place - This was by far the worst italian food I have ever eaten! I felt ashamed for Italy, I wanted to go around each table and explain to everyone that “this is not italian!”. Was here with two friends for dinner, and we all left feeling very disappointed. We had spaghetti bolognese, lasagne, and a calzone - none of which was good. The pasta was way overcooked and had too much garlic, the calzone tasted strangely eggy but otherwise was flavourless, and the lasagna was a hot mess that for some reason tasted very sweet but had no discernible layers. My nonna would have died seeing this. Honestly could have had better if we had bought frozen food from the shops. I cannot fathom how so many tables were filled, the food quality...

We were lucky to get a recently vacated table for two in this very popular and busy authentic Italian restaurant. The food was great and the service very good considering how busy they were. Excellent pasta dishes with a good variety of tasty traditional sauces and a pleasant house wine by the glass, bottle, carafe or half carafe. The deserts look good but with the generous portioned mains, we didn't have room to try them. Recommend booking ahead to avoid...
