Update: I’ve now come back to L’ETO three times over the past few weeks, and I’m honestly so disappointed. I used to rave about their quality and service, but things have clearly gone downhill. I even brought friends with me based on how great it used to be, and I felt embarrassed by the poor service and lack of attention to quality.
During my first visit back, we only ordered a few desserts and two drinks—it took over 25 minutes to be served. I could understand a delay if the place was packed, if they were understaffed, or if the desserts were freshly made. But none of that was the case. The desserts were already in the display case, so I don’t understand why it took so long.
When the food finally came, it was honestly underwhelming. The chocolate hazelnut tart had a weird sour taste, and I’m not sure if it was even supposed to be like that. The napoleon slice was obviously not fresh—it was both soggy and stale. And the San Sebastián cheesecake? The chocolate topping was forgotten not once, but twice, even after reminding the waiter. Again, this might be forgivable if they were overwhelmed, but the place was calm and not understaffed.
I noticed that the staff have changed over the past 2 years and maybe the management too. This branch used to be my all time favorite I don’t understand how it can go downhill this fast. I used to come here when I wanted great service and food or even a drink. The newer staff are not welcoming at all.
It’s very disappointing to see a place I used to love lose its attention to detail and service. For the price point, I can’t even justify it as worth it anymore like it used to be.
Original review: Seriously one of my all-time favorite spots. I’ve tried almost everything on the menu and I’m obsessed—everything always tastes fresh and is made with so much care. The vibes are great, the staff is super nice, and it’s just one of those places that always feels worth it. Yeah, it might be a little pricey for Amman, but honestly, the quality and service make it totally worth it. I make it a point to go multiple times every time I’m in Jordan. I just...
Read moreWent there yesterday with my family and another family for lunch. We all were pleasently surprised with the atmosphere and the friendliness of the service. We went through the menu and realized that we were happy to be hungry. We ordered as starters, Mushroom soup, Caesar Salad with chicken and another with prawns, Greek salad, and Halloumi salad and for mains, wild mushroom Risotto with prawns, teriyaki Salmon a teriyaki Salmon bowl, fillet, double cheese burger. The dishes looked amazing and the salads and starters were delicious. Actually some of us were already full when the mains arrived. The risotto was not full of mushroom flavor but whatever they replaced instead of the wine had a bitter aftertaste, but it was well cooked (Al dente) and very creamy and mushroomy in flavor, the fillet was OK at best and the meat itself was not to our liking, the same about the burger, the meat was not seasoned well, the salmon bowl was excellent, well cooked and flavorful but the teriyaki Salmon was overcooked. The dessert was good, the money cake was good, a big macaroon was very tasty but the the saffron cake was outstanding. The taste if saffron was evident and the level of sweetness was just right. All in all it was a good experience and our waiter (Qusai) was helpful, friendly and quite professional, plates and cutlery were changed when needed and new ones came on time... The price was expensivish. It is definitely worth visiting and be warned the starters...
Read moreSometimes, I like to let my heart guide me where to go. I didn't know this place, I just drove in this fresh rainy day, and it led me here. For a start, it's a pricy place. I love to be spoiled, so that works for me. I like that the place has several seating areas, up, down, and out, viewing the Boulevard. Second, the decor and lighting are calming for me. I liked the botanical art and book shelves they had at the top seating area. Books add to my happiness. I also finally tried the saffron cake, I've been meaning to and finally came to it. Loved it. I enjoy a milk soaked cake. It won't be favorite, but if that tasted good then I can't wait to try the rest of their desserts. It was hard to choose from their desserts because they all looked fresh and delicious. I like to go to places with a new touch or idea, so here they serve the brown sugar in a drinking bottle. I was wondering why everyone was ordering it, but it turned out, it comes with the drinks. I'm looking forward to coming back and trying their breakfast, I'm intrigued by their egg menu. A final note is the cappuccino that I ordered came with a proper heat. Normally, it comes semi warm, but I want it hotter than usual, and it was the perfect temperature for me.
That's it, Have fun living...
