Lebanese Um Khalil - Jabal Amman — Restaurant in Amman

I gave the restaurant 2 stars; one for the receptionist lady who was very nice in person and on the phone and the other is for the mixed grilled plate.

We were 3 adults and one 3.5 years kid.

The service was HORRIBLE we waited long to order, We ordered 1 KG mixed grilled, 1 crab salad, 1 avocado salad, 1 french fries, 1 Hummus, 1 Raheb, 1 Lahm b Ajeen… I asked the waiter to bring the french fries as fast as possible so my son doesn’t wait long.

The waiter brought my son a large plate and then decided to replace it with small plate and a normal fork, I asked for a small fork and I got ignored. ( no cup or napkin for the little one)

The first thing we had is the crab salad, the waiter served us very very little portions and left the other plates for self serving without asking.

The avocado salad, Hummus, Raheb, mixed grilled was served and we asked 3 times for olive oil, dibs rumman, salt and peppers,,, it took them very very long time to bring them… I noticed that the french fries is not served and I reminded the waiter to bring it with Ketchup and Mayo.

They brought 3 small plates of ketchup and 1 garlic sauce (very hot for my kid who prefer everything dipped in Mayo)

The avocado in the salad doesn’t look green and fresh. The crab salad had little dressing. The Hummus was served without olive oil. They forgot to serve Lahm b Ajeen. They filled the bread once and they didn’t check if we need more.

No body asked if everything is ok or if we need anything to add for the meal, drink or dessert after we are done.

We asked for the bill, it took very long. We noticed that they included the Lahm b Ajeen so we asked them exclude it and took very long again to get the bill.

It is very OVERPRICED for the portions...

The place is amazing .. . The food is so so good and the portions are good except for the mushrooms plate was the tiniest dish I have ever seen and the cheese rolls are very small as well .

Flavors are so good meat is so fresh and tender service is very good and the place is spacious and makes you feel warm ...

The price for the portions served is fair in most dishes and I honestly enjoyed every dish there (as I ordered artichoke salad , Rocca salad with orange , cheese rolls, mushrooms with butter , raheb salad ,yalanji , humus bayrouti, oozi rice with lamb , mixed grill , and lamp cutlets , lemon mint and some soft drinks )

I can say that every dish stands out except for the mushrooms dish ...

I just wanna say that at the end of the dinner , we asked if they can serve us Arabic coffee, so the waiter nicely said yes , after a while a nice man came with his dalleh and serve us a very nice Arabic coffee , but later we were again given coffee on the table that was served in ( Arabic finian) that was so bad and was not served in a proper way at all and they were added to the bill, ( I just think the waiter should have told us that we will be served coffee so no need to order coffee again)

When we went out to the valet parking, I gave the valet parking a good tip, but he even asked for more and I did not have any cash on me so I had to take from my guests some cash to give him , this was the most embarrassing moment I have ever been ...I think the management should take this into consideration ...

Would I come again ? Definitely I would it's so nice and amazing place with...

A bunch of crooks… and ready to usher you in quickly at any cost. Not worth the money if you are vegetarian! We are vegetarians so as we entered the restaurant, one of the person who was seating us mentioned that there is buffet. We inquired if we can order off the menu as we won’t be able to eat many options in the buffet. He convinced us that there are several options on the menu so we shouldn’t have any issues. We still decided to order off the menu. As we seated, the server for our table came and offered us water so we asked for the menu, he said he will have to ask his boss and in less than a minute, he says that his boss said there they only have the buffet. He also convinced us for the buffet and said there are several veg options. We felt awkward to leave the place as we were seated and didn’t want to spoil our mood. Our table was quickly filled with about 7-8 mezzo(appetizers), which were being offered for everyone. After that we went to get our main course from the buffet and we only had plain white rice and sautéed vegetables for vegetarians, everything else was off-limits for us due to our dietary restriction. There were about 7-8 other meat dishes that we couldn’t eat. Our toll bill for 2 people was 72 JD(82 JD with tip included, so 41 JD pp). We felt cheated as we barely ate 40JD worth of food and ended up paying double the price (tip included) for just cold mezzes. I’d caution the vegetarians to beware of this place’s buffet. Great for meat eaters but not a place for vegetarians. I’d not go back as they pretended to have plenty of food options but had practically nothing for...
