I do have a soft spot for Russian and Ukrainian cuisine. For me, they represent a perfect example of comfort food. Previously this restaurant was our go-to spot for Eastern European food, and while the location we frequented has since closed, this network of restaurants might still be the best in town for that kind of food. Four years later, I didn't notice any significant price changes. However, portions got noticeably smaller, which is a reasonable strategy considering the growing costs of ingredients. If you ask me, I would also remove unnecessary and outdated food decorations and things like fancy paper napkins to cut down costs further. Other than that, the food is still good, and our lunch was pleasant. Many new dishes I'm interested in trying. And we were glad to find okroshka (cold Russian soup) with kvass, which proved to be not so easy anymore around Almaty.
