Chad Cafe — Restaurant in Almaty

The Good: My favorite restaurant in Almaty. They make ALOT of interesting American style food, that I have never seen before. This restaurant makes American classics better than most restaurants in America. The creator of this menu is very creative. As someone who LOVES to cook I am very inspired by it. The mussels pesto was my favorite but it is off the menu at this moment. I've tried almost everything on the menu. Out of the 15 or so dishes I've ordered, I only disliked one of them. Awesome atmosphere, great music, even the guests are good people. I feel like the prices are fair.

The Bad: I only have one complaint. For most restaurants, I have alot more to complain about. The burger was a 3/10. I had no idea what was on it until it arrived at my table. It was a mess. Why are there so many sauces and ingredients on the burger? There's almost half a cup of sauces on the burger no exaggeration. A great burger is supposed to be simple, perfectly cooked, and great ingredients. I can definitely tell they mix the salt into the burger when they make them into the patties. This makes the burger very very tough and chewy. The salt breaks down the protein walls, and the proteins then join together to create protein walls. I could have taken this burger patty, thrown it against the wall, and it would not...

Bad experience. I went to this place with my girlfriend to have breakfast. They bring my food firstly and 20 minutes later they bring my girlfriend's food. In that 20 minutes I ate my breakfast and my girlfriend watched me. We asked "Where is her food?" and they said "we will bring it when it's ready." Not acceptable. If there is 2 people at the table you need to bring the food together so that people can have breakfast together, not 1 by 1.

Sad part is nobody care, nobody apologised for late food, they just behave like their kitchen is a government office and we have to accept their bad service and say nothing. Sorry but if i'm paying 10.000 tenge for breakfast for 2 people i expect that you care about customer experience.

We don't expect an excellent service, we only wanted the most basic thing from a restaurant, to be able to eat at the same time.

If you are planning to have a good sunday breakfast for 2 person i don't recommend this place because you can't eat together. Instead i recommend the place next to it; IL BOSCO where you can have breakfast at...

Maybe we had a very unlucky morning but we disliked 3 out of 3 dishes.

Potato croquettes turned out to be simple mashed potato with no crust and crispiness. Poached egg was overcooked, potato pancakes with tartar were burned. Syrniki were too sweet and aftertaste was weird, like palm oil.. The coffee was fine. The stuff was polite and welcoming, though a bit funny - the waiter asked us whether we liked everything but went away not waiting even a second for the answer. When we were leaving the administrator met us at the exit and asked for the same, we honestly answered, she apologized and gave us a piece of cake which was fine.

Overall experience is that the place more for Insta photos than for good eating.

Considering the very high price for Almaty (we spent ≈17,000 tinge or 32 euro) and overall quality the place is not...
