FLIES everywhere! A swarm of flies descends upon you as soon as you enter. Then they’re all over your food. We should have left immediately, but stopped because of hunger and regretted it later.

Counted 5 flies per table, at the next table one of the customers angrily killed one with his hand during the meal!

In the open kitchen, the cooks swear so loudly it can be heard in the hall.

The interior is very dark, uncomfortable, shabby, dirty floor. Dusty and peeling walls.

I have been to Rafe Cafe on right bank near Kenesary Khan/UN office many many times. I must have visited this place more than 50 times. The food is amazing, the quantity is good and it is not so expensive. You can get wonderful Pizzas, Pasta and Salad for not a big amount and your stomach will be full. I especially like the free "Bulka" (round breads) that they serve before serving your main food. I have a special 10% discount in this place and the bill will be around 4800-5000 KZT for two people. The location of this place is nice, near the equestrian monument dedicated to Kenesary Khan and the beautiful promenade along the river Ishim. However the service is too slow and the "Italian" pasta is always overcooked. Mezzelune with meat and gorgonzola sauce: the taste of the meat was truly terrible and the that of the gorgonzola cheese was barely noticeable. I suppose they use and add cream to most of their dishes....
