Take Eat Easy — Restaurant in Astana

Nice restaurant located within Highvill Astana. We didn't have a reservation but I would recommend making one as there are very few tables inside. Nicely decorated inside, with a bar, creating cocktails & other drinks that has been fashioned from an old van. Interesting idea, however as you can imagine it takes up a lot of space in the restaurant, which I think may be better used for table space. We had to sit on a circular shared table, around a tree. It feels somewhat cramped inside, sadly. The menu is quite varied, European with Italian influence. Pastas, Bruchetta plus more. We had been recommended the burgers & we all had a classic burger with fries. We also had a Jug of Mango & Passionfruit lemonade which was delicious. We were asked how we wanted the burgers cooked, without realising how thick they were. About an inch thick, it turns out & we had stated medium. If I'd known I would have gone for medium/well because they were undercooked unfortunately. A burger needs a little more grilling if its that thick. The thickness also meant it was very difficult to eat. It wasn't something you could really eat with your hands. They provide plastic gloves but even then it all falls apart. I cut mine in half, tried with hands, with gloves, then realised a Knife & fork was required. Burger was ok, very wet though with the sauces they put inside. Fries were scoop shaped & ok. Atmosphere of the restaurant is cozy and warm, cuisine is European, and in general is delicious and unusual. There are dishes you have never tried but definitely would want to. Steak over cooked Waiter didn’t know how to pour wine, we bought a relatively expensive wine and he didn’t even pour a small amount to try first. Music was ok. They turned off the lights and forced us to pay halfway through eating because they were reaching closing time. Staff couldn’t split the bill. Very unaccomodating.
