Review of CHEF Restaurant

Over the past six months, I’ve visited CHEF five times, and overall, the food has been truly wonderful. I kept coming back because I appreciated the quality, presentation, and flavors. However, my most recent visit was disappointing.

I ordered mussels, and unfortunately, they were extremely rubbery and had an unpleasant smell. It was quite off-putting. That said, I do appreciate that the staff acknowledged the issue and explained it was due to a bad supplier batch — they kindly removed the dish from the bill, which I’m genuinely grateful for.

The service from the waitstaff has always been excellent — friendly, attentive, and professional. But the hostesses, sadly, don’t add any value. They don’t greet or escort guests, nor do they offer menus. It’s unclear what role they are meant to play, as they don’t seem engaged with the guests at all.

We also ordered a mango-passionfruit lemonade, which turned out to be far too sweet — overly sugary to the point of being cloying. A more balanced recipe would really improve the experience.

Lastly, I want to mention the loyalty program. For several months now, they’ve been promising to launch a customer loyalty system. I’ve asked about it multiple times — they’ve taken my details, written them down in a notebook, and even gave me a QR code at some point — but nothing ever came of it. It’s disappointing to be promised something repeatedly with no follow-through.

All in all, this last visit left me a bit disheartened. I still think CHEF has great potential and many strong points, but some aspects need serious attention if they want to keep loyal customers...

Had a special occasion meal here last year. You could classify this establishment as 'Fine Dining' , however at the end of the day the food can look beautiful and cost beautiful but it has to taste beautiful also. On the taste side I would place it near average. It is a little pretentious also,frequented by people who like to be seen in such a place but don't really have passion for good wholesome food and are rather impressed with the look and presentation. The look, presentation and service were all excellent but for me the taste was just average. I can't even remember the name of the dish ordered but I'm going to post the video and someone may know what it is. It's not somewhere I'm in a hurry to return to, but I'm sure there are many who will. Everyone is entitled to...

Были вчера на ужине в этом месте! Приятная, атмосфера и интерьер, приветливый персонал, открытая кухня! Внушительное меню, разнообразное, большой выбор! И еда была отличная! Хорошая подача, детальная проработка, отличный вкус! Спасибо! Но абсолютно разочаровала ситуация с винами... Винная карта неплохая, сразу увидели желаемые позиции, НО... Чтобы выбрать бокальные позиции, нужно выбирать вина не дороже 8000 сом за бутылку, что не очень удобно, тк сначала нужно обращать внимание на цену, а потом уже на само вино, путаница какая-то для гостей. Более половины вин из меню не оказалось в наличии! И, в итоге, оказалось всего 2 вида белого вина и одно красное, которые можно заказать по бокалу. Это очень неприятно, когда у тебя нет выбора и ты вынужден пить просто то, что есть. Это плохо для ресторана такого уровня. У вас хорошая еда и она нуждается в хорошем винном сопровождении. И зачем приносить винную карту с наименованиеми, которых нет в наличии? Тогда откорректируйте, перепечатайте. Зачем мне выбирать из того, чего нет? Вина, которые нам пришлось пить были не плохими, но и не интересными, своих денег (1100 сом за бокал белого и 1500 сом за бокал красного) они не стоили. Поэтому впечатление 50/50. Надеюсь, вы исправите эту ситуацию.
