My recent experience at “Boris Coffee” left much to be desired. We decided to try their cappuccino and Hibiscus Iced Tea, and unfortunately, it was a letdown. Although the iced tea was passable, the price of 200 KGS was quite steep for what it offered.
The real disappointment came with the cappuccino. Imagine paying a whopping 160 KGS for a small cappuccino only to have it served in a to-go papercup. It felt like a slap in the face, considering the exorbitant price. But the disappointment didn’t end there—the taste was simply tasteless and watery. It seemed like they prioritized adding excessive amounts of milk instead of the rich flavor of coffee. The result was an unbalanced and unsatisfying beverage.
To make matters worse, the interior of the coffee shop was under renovation during our visit. As a result, there was no indoor seating available except for a cramped and uncomfortable balcony outside. Sitting there, we were subjected to the scorching heat while enduring the constant noise from the busy street.
All in all, I won’t be returning to “Boris Coffee” in the future. The poorly prepared cappuccino and the inconveniences caused by the ongoing renovations left a bitter taste in my mouth. Save your money and seek out better options where the coffee is actually enjoyable. This place falls short of expectations.

Read moreBoris has wonderful coffee and desserts, no question about that and the staff is really nice. Five stars for that. The reason I’m giving three stars is because the last two or three times I’ve been there, there have been unruly and loud children running about the tables. In one incidence on the front patio, a child knocked the table so that my coffee spilled into my sandwich. Moms, I get it that you want to have coffee with your friends but please be considerate. No doubt Boris is one of the most popular places in Bishkek. Maybe it’s time to expand the patio or think about a different location on Bokonbaeov or nearby especially if they want to cater to...
Read moreI've been floating around various cafes in Bishkek during my visits over the past 6 years. There are many pleasant ones to choose from, but my favorite thus far is Boris Coffee and Bakery. The decor is subtle, the music is relaxing and not overbearing, all combining for a great atmosphere for chatting with friends or pulling out your laptop for a bit of work. The service is fast and friendly, quite harmonious really; very impressed with their customer service. Lastly, the food and coffee itself (why you're really here!) is very good. It's a fairly well-rounded menu, with an obvious emphasis on baked goods, but I have yet to order something that...
