A restaurant that exemplifies Japanese layout and design, Furosato is a destination for those seeking to eat authentic Japanese food in Bishkek. Sushi and sashimi are quick to come out, but selection is limited to only a few fish like salmon, tuna, mackerel, cooked shrimp, and a few other options. The cuts weren’t great because my three slices of tuna sashimi were still attached, like an accordion. The wasabi wasn’t fresh either, and was off-green color, almost grey. Tuna roll came with too much densely packed rice, compared to the amount of tuna. The tempura, however, was beautifully fried and came with a sauce that was refreshing and authentic, with grated mountain yam and slivered scallions on the side for more oomph.

The menu itself is quite long and has many options for even the most discerning of eaters. Note that last order is 9:15 pm SHARP, so I didn’t have much of a chance to peruse the menu since I arrived around 9:05 pm and gave me a rushed experience of the place, but I would return to give the other items on the menu a chance. Service is...

After eating all for much kyrgyz food last days we went to bishkek in search for some different cuisine. Spotted this small restaurant and decided to go in and try. We sat outside in really nice shadowed place with subtle sprinklers for cooling. Was greeted by waitress and by japanese chef himself. If we had any doubts about nationality of the chef they disappeared the minute we got our food came. One of the best places with japanese cuisine outside of japan! What a surprise! Sushi with big pieces of fresh fish, rice which was maybe not fantastic, but really ok. But the other dishes like tuna carpaccio and unajuu were to die for!!! Also never thought I would write this but wasabi ice creams are really good :D Really, we were amazed to discover this japanese gem in center of the bishkek! Thank you for...

Came to Bishkek for a short family trip and discovering this hidden gem was the highlight that capped our whole journey. Having been to Japan twice, I can honestly say this place made me feel like I was back there. We loved it so much we ended up dining here twice during our stay.

The service is warm, attentive, and genuinely caring. The owner is incredibly friendly, which makes the experience feel even more personal. But the true star is the food, authentic, fresh, and clearly made with so much love and care.

If you’re a fan of Japanese cuisine or simply miss Japan like I do, this spot is a must-visit. Easily one of the best dining experiences I’ve...

We love the whole family here. The ambiance they create cozy and inviting, with soft lighting and comfortable seating that’s perfect for a relaxing dinner. We usually take their signature soup sanrataan and various starters, both of which were delicious and beautifully presented. The staff is friendly and efficient, ensuring that my order arrived promptly despite the café being quite busy. The space was well-maintained, a lot of indoor plants and I appreciated the clean restrooms. While the prices slightly higher than average, the quality and overall experience make it worth.
