Coming here requires quite a bit of a walk if you're coming in from the old town area. Helmed by three women, the food here is affordable and delicious. I started my meal with the Luang Prabang sausage (25k). While the portion seems small, the sausage was very good. It is unlike any of the Western sausages I have tried. It also comes served with some chilli paste, which will change the taste of the dish. The mixed vegetables (25k) were fragrant. The oyster sauce smell was very strong, and the vegetables were all coated with the sauce. I also liked the variety of vegetables in this dish. The star of my meal was the chicken stew (30k). This dish is flavoured with dill, lemongrass and basil, and comes with egg plants. This wholesome dish was slightly peppery and taste of it was uniquely good. Edit: came here for a second visit and I received a warm welcome. I had the Khaiphaen (20k), and this was amazingly good on its own. Not too salty. You can make it taste better with the chilli paste that comes with the Luang Prabang sausage. I also had the pork laarb (35k) and this was good. Very fragrant and with shallots mixed in.

I love it here for lunch. I like their bamboo walls, the food doesn't feel oily. I normally get a pineaple-mango shake with no sugar, and a plate of stir fry vegetables and chicken with basil leaves or I get the rice with an egg on top and minced chicken. Ordering Pad Thai is popular. It's so convenient that you can pay with credit card (they do charge you 3% like everywhere here). I wish they had more vegetarian options with tofu or seitan protein. Also, if you are doing some trip planning or need to check your email, their wifi works very well. You can even do a video call. Ookla test results: 28mbps symmetric. I don't feel it's the right setting for working online though. I will be coming back over and over again!

This jewel is tucked away in a relatively quiet neighbourhood. We took a walk over from the Old Town area, which is about 15min. Place is clean and neat. Ordered Lao Stew (30,000kip), stir fried mixed vegetables (25,000kip), Laotian sausages (25,000kip) and 2 steamed rice (14,000kip). Food was served promptly. Like their open kitchen concept, where you can see which dish they are making. Owner is very thoughtful and gave us sharing bowls for the stew. They are the first to do for us here in Laos, and we are really appreciative. For the good food, decent pricing and excellent service, I'll strongly recommend this place!

Unfortunately we were waiting for 25 minutes so we decided to ask about how much additional time we should wait and the answer was: 30 minutes. I think 1 hour is not an acceptable time. It is a shame because it is a restaurant with good recommendations. UPDATE: We have given a second chance. The experience was very good. Good attention and acceptable waiting time. The food had good presentation and also excellent taste/flavor. In addition, the quantity served is excellent. Without a doubt, an excellent option but I highly recommend to go early in order to have a good experience.

Bamboo garden restaurant One of the best place to eat in Luang Prabang, located in an alley, few steps from big street; Bamboo offer tasty Laos food included laap (larb?); padthai, soup. Fresh ingredients and cook by order. Little place cater less than 10 table, alway busy at dinner time. Ate 3 times here during the trip, tried different dishes included laap, soup, and stir-fried chicken. Price range from 20.000 kip-45.000 kip per dish. Typical dish with steam rice and stir-fried meat (pork, chicken, beef) cost 20.000kip. Tasty food and friendly staff, recommendation!

Super good local Laos food in LPB. Strongly recommend. I have visited LPB for 5 days and eat here 4 or 5 times. One of best restaurants in LPB. Beautiful taste of food and good service. It’s suitable for chill lunch and dinner, not suitable for party if you want to drinks a lot there. Koy Pa Laos (Laos Fish Salad) is the best in town to me. The couple owners are super nice. They speak very nice English. I feel like the cook in the evening cooks better than the cook in the afternoon. Evening dishes are more tasty. The restaurant is closed on Sunday.
