Just incase you donât read the whole review. EVERY coffee lover and enthusiast NEEDS to visit this shop!!
Visited this coffee shop last Sunday with my wife. I was very impressed with the espresso machine which was I believe a Victoria Arduino Black Eagle 2 group. Another thing that caught my eye was the Titus EK43, Iâve only seen two of these in Laos, the other being at Bluekoff.
The baristas are very knowledgeable in espresso and pour over. They will ask you how the coffee was and if there are any changes youâd like to make or the next visit.
The owner seems to be a coffee enthusiast and a sneaker head as well. They had a display of some pretty difficult shoes to get a hold of even in the western side of the world. There was also a wall display of what looked like every single Hario product you could think of ie. Every version of the v60, siphon, serving glasses etc.
I had an iced americano and paid a little bit extra for the Ethiopian beans which were fantastic. My wife had an iced mocha set which included a macaroon which was fantastic and I actually donât even like macaroons. The mocha wasnât too milky or sweet like most shops. The espresso shots are weighed and timed and are a standard 1:2 ratio pulled between your standard 25-30 seconds.
They seem to be very keen on details here. Thereâs a wide selection of single origin beans for pour overs and you can get them to pull a shot using those beans as well. But they recommended against using the single origin for espresso, although I disagree with this I let them take the drivers seat in terms of recommendations.
I grabbed their house âEverydayâ beans (500g for 55.000kip) to use on our modest espresso setup at our office. Our usual beans are the Italian roast from sinook (500g for 85.000kip) but Iâm excited to give their beans a try and will make the switch if itâs good. Their beans are always roasted and bagged fresh, the baristas will let you know which day it was roasted if you ask (never more than 2 weeks old) from what Iâm told.
Final comment is their pastries looks realllly tasty Iâll be grabbing a danish the next visit which should be this week!
Note: one thing that does bother me a little is they don't put roast dates on their specialty beans. That's a hard no from me in terms of buying whole beans. Especially at that kind of pricing. Please consider putting a printed roast date on the...
Read moreKafe in Lab is a clean and well-maintained café where coffee enthusiasts will feel right at home. The staff and owner are highly knowledgeable, with numerous coffee certifications displayed on the walls. They also sell café supplies. I tried their Coconut Matcha, which was just as impressive as their coffee selections. The indoor area is air-conditioned, while the outdoor space includes a smoking area. Parking is limited, but the quality and atmosphere make it...
Read moreI like to support lil mom and pop places. It's definitely not bad for the price. Girl there seemed a lil lost. Stood there like can I get a menu. I don't know what you guys got. I wouldn't go out of my way to go here. No music was dead silent for awhile. Not a place to do remote work. If you drive by and need a good cup of coffee it's worth...
