After walking around That Luang for a bit at night, we decided to stop at a restaurant for some refreshments and hoping to get an Indrive or a Loca as we couldn't continue walking with 2 children. Having been to this restaurant before, we thought we could get some drinks and some nibbles while resting as the staff were quite friendly. Please note, it was at 8:30 pm and the place was almost empty apart from 2 diners. Upon entry, I asked the waitress if we could come in and just have some drinks, to which she responded positively. While seated at a table, a waiter came and asked for our order. My husband, politely told him we are not hungry and would only want to have drinks. He gave us the menu and we order a bottle of wine for 750,000+, some olives and some drinks for the kids.
All was well... until an old man, who said he was the owner, came to our table and asked why were we not ordering food. I told him, we are not hungry and at the moment, we would just like to have some drinks. He responded rudely and said, "We are not a bar!" We immediately closed our menus, humiliated by the response and proceeded to the door. He turned abruptly to his staff, who had been welcoming and kind and said loudly again we are not a bar. My husband retorted and you are not a gentleman.
Do not go there. Though considering they had only 2 diners it's possible other customers had been treated this way.

Seriously, is this how you treat returning customers? Never again. The owner was publicly rude. He didn't even consider that we have 2 children and factor that...
Read moreA fantastic dining experience adjacent to Thatluang. We went as a group of three with a reservation for their dinner service on Christmas day. Needless to say, we were accommodated generously by some of the most attentive staff. Entrees came at a reasonable timing, so it was a constant flow of dishes as well as small sides and appetizers which were provided free of charge. Their wine selection is also diverse, with Chilean and French wines being the standouts; although there could be a separate wine menu for easier reference. The owner of the restaurant also stopped by for a few words, and what a wealth of wisdom that man has ! A great fine dining experience, I recommend the salade Na Dao and...
Read moreWe were just looking for a lunch place and happened into Na Dao. We took the set menu for 240k and it was so good. I had the fresh salad, and the tomatoes were divine and served with hot, fresh rolls with butterv that O could have eaten by itself. I had the salmon and my husband had the steak and they were both amazing. Followed by a tiny bit of hot chocolate cake it was the perfect lunch. Highly...
