Autentika (B2) — Restaurant in Riga

This place has really good business lunches, but beware of asking check to be made on a company customer!

Me and my colleagues enjoy walking around the centre looking for good places to eat lunch. Autentiska is not the closest one, and definitely does not look like a good place at all. Old wooden house, graffities, signs and Google page saying it is a bar. Those qualities rarely go nicely with a good lunch place. However! These guys are amazing.

We decided to give it a try after hearing about it for 100000th time, so we just there. Wow, it was an amazing experience, so next few days we have been having lunch only at this place. They have Latvian/English menu early in the morning on Facebook page, so we can check the offer before going there. In-house English menu is not available, however staff speak ls English fluently. Price is 4.80 for any 2 meals, which is more expensive when anywhere nearby, however each meal is prepared and served for you "restaurant-style", and definitely feels extra.

Food is delicious. It is not the best lunch I had, but definitely one in the top 5.

Bonus: we had colleague from India with us once and he tried national Indian dish there. He was really impressed because they basically nailed it and it was good for his taste. Thumbs...

I came to this place for the second time today Sunday after having a good first time experience but this time the service was totally unacceptable and I don’t understand how that staff can still have a job there. We came at 11 and the staff just ignored us until a girl rudely told me it opens 12. We come back 12 and it still looks the same, closed... we sit and think maybe they need some time. After 15 minutes it’s still the same and staff working say nothing, do nothing. We go inside to order and the coffee machine is not working so she says we need to wait more. Time is 12:20. We ask for menu and gives us in Latvian but explains nothing. She really doesn’t care about us and I don’t get how such person can work with service. One year ago I posted this : Great atmosphere, nice drinks. Missing toilet paper though. Today I'm writing once more and realised I mentioned the same issue previously. I go into one bathroom, notice there's no toilet paper. I kindly tell it to one employee at the bar. She tells me "Oh yeah, but you can go to the other one". I proceed to go to the other one, no toilet paper either. I mention it to a second employee, which then repeats it to the first employee. She replies to her "I know".
