ROI Restaurant — Restaurant in Riga

The interior design is on point but there is nothing “luxe” about the menu/food here.

I dragged my sister to try a new restaurant in Riga but we were very disappointed with our experience. First, the menu is pretty basic (say, in comparison to Tails) and the dishes are massively overpriced.

Our waitress recommended we order the signature starter which was the scallop tartare but the dish just didn’t work. Not sure if it was the puffed chia seeds on top or the sauce underneath but something didn’t taste right?

Then she recommended that we go for the Dover Sole as it would be a big whole fish that we could share. We ended up getting a very normal size fish which was broken off on one side (I didn’t even take a photo because it just didn’t look good at all - wish I did now).

And just as we were leaving we saw a waiter bring out the same dish we had but the fish being twice as large as what we got. I don’t know if we got super unlucky with ours but it does not reach the level of standard this place claims.

I feel like they’ve invested too much into their interior and not enough into their menu. Would not come back or recommend to others.

Instead go to Tails or The Catch - much better quality of the dishes for very reasonable cost...

saw the nice intro from the inflight magazine despite the mix reviews, after trying both Snatch and Fish House, i agree with other reviewer about the “overpriced” and ok-ish standard. restaurant look good from the outside. but its way too bright and the food standard was ok, but the presentation was far from what i saw from the magazine presentation.

the service was also not align with the price tag. i was there on a saturday night, 8pm. it was only 3 tables there.

i ordered a seafood salad and the main course, the tuna steak. the fish and seafood itself is ok-ish but the salad tastes old. and a bottle of water, and the cost was 55 euro , and they remains u that price is not including the service indicates that you should pay for tips which i did - 5 euro. no one forced me to paid tho.

staff/service. 50/50 the male server was trying to check if everything ok while other female service was busy.
