Best food in Riga! Great flavor, awesome service and affordable.
I was not looking specifically for a vegan restaurant, just looking for something different. Chef/Owner Oleg graciously greeted me as I walked in, as he did with everyone that enters. His passion is a true art form, expressed in the medium of his delightful cuisine. Each course was better than the previous-by the end, my tastebuds were overwhelmed by the magnificent texture and flavor of the Napoleon Cake! More on that later.
As I ordered at the counter (Falafel Salad), chef Oleg offered a Tumeric latte as an alternative to the Matcha Latte and inquired “something sweet?” Absolutely sir! The Napoleon Cake looked delicious.
I was surprised by the Vegan Fishcake app (an unexpected surprise to my order). The flavors were very complex- a blend of semi-sweet, tangy and salty. I did not detect any fish flavor which was fine by me.
As I finished the app, chef brought out the Falafel salad and accompanying sauces. What a treat! Each sauce was wonderful-flavors ranged as much as the textures. Each taste surprised my palate and senses. Just incredible. pro tip- hold on to the mango sauce until dessert arrives
As I was finishing my main course, chef Oleg brought out my dessert and Tumeric latte with perfect timing. I cannot boast enough about the Napoleon cake. If it has not won awards, it should….every award for any type of dessert. I found myself rocking slightly from side to side like a toddler with his favorite treat. This cake brought me joy. Fantastic. Magnificent. A “must order” if you stop by.
The overarching theme here, is chef Oleg and his team really take pride in their work and it shows. Presentation, timing, flavor, portion size, variety- each has been perfected here at Doctor Chef Resto
Patron attire varied from casual athleisure wear to slacks and a collared shirt. I felt comfortable (not under-dressed) in my athletic attire, having just enjoyed a Sunday walk*

Read moreI had a wonderful experience at this vegan restaurant in Riga! The staff were incredibly welcoming and kind, which made me feel right at home. As a raw vegan, I was so pleased to be served a beautifully prepared, flavourful, and absolutely delicious salad and a lovely, freshly squeezed juice. I also really appreciated that they kindly accommodated my request to replace the olive oil with an apple cider and agave dressing — such attention to detail and care for individual preferences!
The atmosphere was cosy and inviting, the food was fresh and tasty, and the service was warm and attentive. All in all, a lovely spot and a highlight of my visit to Riga. Highly recommended for anyone looking for great plant-based food and friendly...
Read moreThis gem is hard to find !! It is on the main street Aleksandra Caka iela but it is down a few steps and in the basement. The sign is very small at the street and the only word I noticed on it was Chef. I will attach a photo here of the sign. Food is totally delicious, different dishes each day. Must have the Neapolitan cake, eat it in and it will be presented on a plate wit a beautiful sauce. I have labelled it the best cake I've had in 25 years of being vegan ! Everything on the buffet was delicious and they are uncommon dishes and not your usual dishes. You can go back and fill your plate again all included in the one price of EU9.50. I loved this place and I highly...
