From the moment we walked in, we wanted to leave. The place looked trashy and not too hygienic. The common area was connected to the showers, with doors widely open, and even standing far away, i could see the dirt in the showers. Feeling the vibe and people around i immediately didn´t feel safe.||There was no reception, just two girls sitting by a computer, without any understanding of how to take care of costumers. After recieving a question, they had to check with their boss through facebook.||I had made a reservation for five days and paid in the deposit. I was aware of the fact that if the reservation is cancelled later than a week before, then I would loose the deposit and the payment for the first night. Our plans had suddenly changed and we didn´t need a stay for 5 nights, so we were asking if we could cancel the reservation and just stay for one night instead.||After a long wait for the girl discussing things on facebook in front of us, they said that it´s impossible to cancel other days, and told us to pay the whole amount for 5 days in CASH. Even if we would stay for only one night. We told them that it´s illegal and showed them the information written on the webpage (that we lose the deposit and pay for one night if a situation of a cancellation occurs), but they knew nothing of it and just kept asking for cash.||||Overall it was an incredibly poor experience and we left without staying a...
Read moreAlright, most of the staff is ultra rude, and all they can do is repeat "5€ now". Pretty much everything about their Hostelworld advert is simply a lie. There is no free parking, there is no plugs at each bed, there isn't nice big cosy sitting area, there is no free laundry and no free washing powder for it (3€ for a wash, 2€ for washing powder). In the dorm area, there are 12 beds, 4x triple bunk beds, and the top bed is quite simply a health and safety hazard. There is no place to store your luggage. There are some good points. There is hot water, it's warm and it's secure enough for a hostel. Toilets are cleaned daily and are kept to a good standard although they are small, which causes for some drama in the morning. Breakfast is included in the price, and it's basically bread, something that's meant to be ham and cheese, corn flakes and milk, so it will fill you, but that's the best that can be said about it. There are passive aggressive notes in the bathrooms about leaving bad reviews and how this place is for "smart" people. They go on to say that their price doesn't cover the costs and yet they are making small profit, which left me staring for a while. It's 10€ per person per night, which they claim is amazing, even though I've been to hostels in London for lower price which were much better. There is a total lack of community, which defines hostels. Overall, I do not recommend...
Read morethe WORST hostel i've ever visited!! Especially for girls NOT recommended. Frightening and disgusting people there and it seemed they live there. No reception and you cant see who is member of the staff and who is a guest. 12 people in one room together with too little space for everyone. In the whole "hostel" is too little space and on some points you have problems to walk trough with a backpack or luggage. The "breakfast" is a little bit cold cutmeat and cheese, but its so long on the plate that the meat is brown. The only clean thing where fortunately the beds and the bed sheets, which are free. The showers and the toilettes are dirty, maybe broken and the smell was very bad because you couldnt find any window. The smell in the hostel is everywhere disgusting, because of missing windows and shoes everywhere. The young staff lady was willing to help, also with tips for Riga, but other staff members weren't able to speak english and so it was difficult to ask something. The "kitchen" is too small to call it a kitchen and better dont plan to use this thing. Everything is dirty and even after 30 Minutes cleaning not possible to use. The only positive things is really the location...
