The food was tasty. The place was cozy and clean. Service was terrible.
Place was nearly empty, only one other family there when we came. Young girl sat behind the register, barely looked up when we arrived. After taking our order, drinks and our side dish of potatoes (meant for the main course) arrived quick (before starter). My main course arrived 20-30 minutes before that of my partner. The rude waitress threw the dirty spoons back in our cutlery basket when exchanging my empty main course plate for my partners.
At no point during our meal did she ask if we would like anything more to drink, nor take away dirty plates, or ask us if everything is ok. Everytime she came by our table with new items (because nothing arrived at the same time) she had turned her back towards us and started to walk away before we even got the chance to ask for more drinks.
All she did was sit slouched behind the register, probably on her phone, and roll her eyes when she had to get up to greet new customers.
When my partners main course arrived, we just wanted to leave so we ate it quickly and got up to pay and leave (because she wasn't going to come over to us with the check). She slammed the check on the counter, muttered the price while looking in another direction and completely avoided eye contact the entire time.
Funny part is, the receipt kindly reminded us that tips are not included in the bill 🙃
The whole experience was so absurdly rude that we couldn't help but laugh at it once we got out.
We have both worked in the service industry and because of that are very polite and nice customers, and definitely not fussy. But as this was one of the worst experiences I've ever had as a customer myself, I needed to write this review.
As I said, food was tasty and interior nice, so the place has potential, but please hire better staff (we would have spent much more money there if we had felt welcome at the restaurant - now we just wanted to leave as fast...
Read moreWe here at this place about half a year ago. Then, we ordered classic and spinach hachapuri. It was one of the best hachapuris I have ever eaten in my life (especially spinach).
I am not sure what has changed there with the owners but I can outline great development in design. It is neat and stylish. Great job on changing the interior, really.
However, we were disappointed with the food, specifically with spinach hachapuri. We have ordered mushroom khinkali and spinach hachapuri. Worth to mention, that khinkali were quite fine. The mushrooms were tasty. Great meat alternative.
Despite all the above, the hachapuri was awful. I can’t say it was gross or unbearable but it is not something we tried previously. No spinach, just a few drops in random places. But the main problems was with other…
The cheese was not suluguni at all. I ate this cheese numerous of times. I like it for saltiness and richness in taste. The cheese in our hachapuri tastes like “Russian” cheese from Rimi or Maxima. No saltiness, richness or anything we admire in suluguni cheese. It was mediocre.
I can’t say anything about other dishes cuz we did not have them. Definitely, I would not recommend to take spinach one. I will give this place one more chance and try something more classics. Although, I do feel drastic change in taste and...
Read morePassed this place one night and thought 'hmm never had Georgian food' so stopped to look at menu even though they were obviously closing up. The girl was lovely, explaining dishes, vert smiling and welcoming so we booked for the next night. Turned up 5 mins late for our 8pm table to be told by a different waitress nothing free, will need to wait outside. We did, nobody came and asked if we wanted a drink while waiting then 15mins later said oh I thought you were waiting inside?! Its not a big place! We ordered starter spicy soup for me and trio of veg dishes then salmon and a veal dish with wine and beer. White wine was pretty warm and no ice bucket provided. Mrs starter arrived and she also put down my veal dish. I said I ordered soup, she come back with the menu to show me the dish I ordered. Indeed yes that is my dish FOR MAIN course but where is soup?? Whisked away the veal and 5mins later the soup came, with no apology. The mains then were put down in front of us while we were still eating starters. Mine had obviously been kept heated from 1st visit so was drying out😓 for the whole time in their I don't think I saw this waitress smile!!...
