The hotel is very cheap (23 euro per single room with private facilities without breakfast) and for its price it is very good.||+ The room was warm, clean with free wi-fi and good light (and it’s rarity in the hotels all over the world!)||+ The bathroom was spacious and comfortable.||+ The hotel is situated in the nice district, not in the old city but not far from it – 20 min by foot, 3 stops by tram or 5 euro on the taxi (but you should bargain!).||+ Receptionists are very helpful. They were waited for me till the midnight although reception is closed from 10 PM and on the next day they have explained me everything about city transport.||||- There was a strange smell in the room, very old towels and poor noise isolation (I have sent all rustles of my neighborhoods and I was afraid to disturb them with a hair-drier at the midnight).||- The shower wasn’t comfortable cause it was situated above the head so you will have wet hairs every time when you will take a shower.||- The hotel is some flats on the 3d-4th floor of the building and there is no lift, so you should bring your luggage by yourself.||- The doors in the flat-reception and in the flat with my room were very heavy and they closed very quickly which is extremely uncomfortable if you move with a luggage (I had 2 bruises!).||- Not all receptionists speak russian well (although there were a lot of russian tourists in Riga) and I didn’t like that I had to pay for the room before I have seen it.||- The breakfast costed 5 euro per person and it is too expensive for Riga so I have prefered...
Read moreWe enjoyed a three night stay here, and got a 'twin' room (because it was the cheapest option). The room was large with three single beds in, as well as a nice en-suite bathroom. The layout of the hotel is a little unusual, and as other people have said - there's no lift. This hotel is only a 10-15 minute walk from the old town, seemed safe, and had restaurants, shops, public transport and a supermarket all at it's doorstep. The breakfast was basic but not bad, especially as it was included in the great value price. The receptionist was nice and spoke very good english, and they allowed us to store our bags for the day in a locked cupboard after we'd checked out (although there were other people's bags their too, so maybe don't leave anything too valuable).||||This hotel is also fairly close to the Radisson Blu Latvija hotel, which is a drop off/pick up point for the Nordeka airport transfer bus. The airport transfer was €5 per person each way - but when arriving at the hotel to be picked up to go back to the airport, make sure you ask the receptionist to ring the shuttle bus for you as it is not a timetabled shuttle - it seems as though it only comes/goes when requested. ||||Overall this hotel was a great option for a cheap, basic stay in a nice location! We would definitely return next time...
Read moreThis hotel is a complete disaster! It's overrun with cockroaches and bedbugs, lacking any cleanliness standards. The owner behaves horribly, mistreating foreign guests and overcharging at 50-60 euros a day to every Indians and permonth it’s 280 euros. For just 62 euros, I could stay at Radisson Blu! The service is appalling, the reception is terrible, and the owner prioritizes money over everything. I'll never return to this establishment – it's a haven for pests and potential health hazards. Avoid this subpar location at all costs!I will NEVER stay in this dump again – it's a breeding ground for BUGS and DISEASES. Seriously, AVOID this TRASHY place at all costs! And please to those Indians who go for the first time in Latvia this is not an option. It’s a worst hotel and sometimes even receptionist goes to do cleaning service which is absolute mess. Please don’t waste your money on this trashy hotel. Owner don’t even return deposits further makes some reason to charge extra bugs which is not right. He does scamming to all Indians. Please avoid going to this unhealthy unhygienic trashy hotel. There are a lot of options in SS.LV consider looking into that website rather than going...
