One of my worst experiences in Ramadan so far, the waiters were so lost , we came in as two people and asked for two different main dishes and they said that you can only get one ( when i’m paying for 2!!), u ask for something and it takes 3-5 mins and 3 times to ask .
For the siyadiye dish, they served it from a big plate like we’re homeless people getting served food instead of bringing a well presented plate , the soup ( which is supposed to be the first thing that comes on ur table since ur fasting) came after the salad and it came cold , these are some of the few comments I have for this terrible place.
This restaurant is a joke in ramadan , and it’s a shame that tripadvisor had this placed as their first rank !!!!!! don’t go to this place especially if you are fasting and looking to relax.
Go to Bebabel, it’s 45$ that is actually worth ur pocket , pay the extra 3 dollars for proper food, and pls don’t let this “cafe” get involved in preparing ramadan...
Read moreI’m not sure where to start for this absolutely incredible experience. My husband and I had our wedding dinner at Amar cafe downtown. After checking several restaurant options in and out of Beirut for our wedding dinner, our search came to an end after visiting Amar. It was the most perfect setting for our event. Our planning was done with the manager Mr. Naim who was so helpful and had amazing ideas. During the dinner, the staff were awsome and kind to everyone and Mohammad was so attentive made sure that everything was going well. Our friends and family kept raving about how incredible everything was. The food was beyond delicious and the servings were very generous. Definitely the best Lebanese food we've had. And let's not forget the beautiful ambience that felt celestial. We strongly recommend this restaurant and we will definitely be going back. Thank you Amar team for a night we will...

i always order from bebabel and eat at em sherif so i thought i would try this place to see if it was on the same level.
conclusion: absolutely not!
hommus: too thick. they sent me the wrong portion as well which ruined my meal (had to wait another hour) and they did not say sorry or compensate which is shameful for a restaurant on sheri3 el masare
fattoush: uneatable, they forgot my sauce. when it came it was so thick like no thanks. chef needs to know how to make debs remen sauce. and the ingredients not fresh. did i say they forgot the bread for the fattoush and hommus as well?
batata harra: due to the packaging it arrived moist and not crunchy. well seasoned though
taouk: only thing that arrived good. no sides though
conclusion go to the other...
