We went to Balthazar after lunch, to try the famous Pain Perdu that my friends highly recommended. The place is strategic and has an amazing design that creates a cozy ambience fitting perfectly with the Christmas spirit. A classy place with very respectful waiters that welcomed us very warmly. We ordered cappuccinos and the famous pain Perdu. The pain Perdu was a soft pleasure in every bite. Despite us being full , we couldn't stop having more of this delicious crusty golden dough with a smooth heartwarming texture on the inside. It came accompanied with a caramel sauce that you can add on or simply enjoy the Pain with a sugar spread. It was just perfect... the quality/quantity/price was fair....

The negative is the service, as soon as you get your food... you are on your own until you’re done. What’s worse is that you don’t get what you order... I ordered the burger medium well, with no onions and no mustard. My burger was well-done, with onions and mustard, which just ruined my whole experience.
I would have recommended the place if the staff actually knew what they were doing, but personally food taste is not a good reason for me to come back if I don’t get a nice treatment or get my food the way I was promised.

The fat was disgusting and we are pretty sure it's not real entrecôte. Also, the fries were too oily. The club sandwich wasn't fresh and the burger not so special yet overpriced.
