The Black Bar in Šiauliai was a true highlight during my stay in Lithuania. My colleagues and I met here almost every evening and were consistently impressed by the dedication of the staff, especially when it came to the food. The decor of the place has a unique charm, and although it may appear slightly worn, it gives the venue an authenticity that captivated us. The music, food, drinks, and cleanliness were top-notch. The waiting staff were always friendly and humorous, contributing to a relaxed atmosphere. Even though the Black Bar is not a Michelin-starred restaurant, in my opinion, it deserves a perfect score. This is one of the premium places in Šiauliai so expect to pay a premium price and you will indeed receive a premium service. This place has a pretty calm and relaxing atmosphere. First of all - the soup with salmon and caviar - was a little thick but surprisingly very delicious, especially well made salmon. The beef steak was prepared medium-rare. It was very well made, the mushroom with tomatoes was a also a very tasty and unique idea. The creme brulee was very sweet and full of different flavoured fruits, nothing out of the ordinary. I'm a 56 years old Irishman who has travelled extensively across Europe so I think I know a thing or two about what makes a great bar. Black Bar is just that. A great Bar. The perfect mix of a classy Victorian bar-inspired interior with excellent and reasonably priced food offerings and a good selection of quality beer. The staff were as elegant and classy as the Bar and that's despite my own scruffy appearance having travelled across 4 countries in 7 days. An absolute privilege to eat and drink here.
