This is such a wonderful place, really cosy and food is delicious (more expensive than average, tho). But the service is just a DISASTER!!! So starting from the beginning: As we asked for an english menu, the waitress brought only one although there were 6 of us. In the time that we were waiting for starters, the waitress didn’t even lay the table and as we’ve got our starters, we had to ask for plates and forks and we had to wait for about 10 minutes. And as she finally brought plates, there were only 4 of them and she was like “do you need more?”. Of course, there were 6 of us! With the starters we’ve got bread aside, but only 3 leaves 🙃 although we were 6... As we were finished with the starters, the waitresses and they didn’t change the cutlery. But few forks and knives were accidentally brought away with the plates. So some of us didn’t have any and couldn’t eat the main course. After we asked for forks and nothing happened, we had to ask 10 minutes later again. The main courses were brought with a time difference and not all together. This list can be continued forever 🙃🙄 We’re shocked, that an upscale restaurant like that, can have such a poor (i would even say miserable) service. Even such a nice interior and tasty food couldn’t save...
Read moreGreat location spoiled by a lack of local produce, high prices and a limited menu - only two items available Friday evening 7pm which seems bizarre.
Probably explains why there’s only a handful of people here despite it being the annual town festival. We saw the rest of the bars and restaurants were very busy when walking through.
No draught beer, only bottles and just a small selection of Lithuanian beer from one producer.
Cheese platter hilariously lacking and bill more expensive than what you pay in London, UK… at least there your beer and cheese would be local.
You can get better cheese than this at the supermarket but here you’ll pay €20 for 1/8 of the amount. Waitress seemed embarrassed to serve it and didn’t even explain what cheeses were on offer.
Final warning, the wine prices are per 100ml not for a glass so be prepared to pay more than what’s stated on the menu.
90%+ of the reviews I write are positive so I hope you will heed my advice and avoid this place except for maybe a coffee on...
Read moreWhat a lovely place. I was sitting near the bar and saw how people were working here. And it was awesome. I like those things than you look at someone and see that they not only know what they are doing, but they love things they are doing. So I recommend you to visit Kurhauzas. My tour guide was praising this place either, and said if you want to eat and drink royally, this is the place to go, because there is not anything like that in the city...
