City Chef Barbecue — Restaurant in Vilnius

I had the three meat platter with pulled port, pulled beef, ribs, onion rings, and slaw. First the good: The portion size was substantial. The ribs were the best thing on the platter. The sauces were nice. The onion rings were nostalgic as they reminded me of school lunches back in the US. Now the rest: None of the meat seemed fresh. The ribs might have been a day old but the pulled pork and beef were beyond their expiration date. The beef was chewy and dry and tasted like it have been in the back of the fridge for weeks. Of course I did not take more than the first bite. The age of the pulled pork was camouflaged slightly as it was already heavily coated with sauce but it was still dry and I could tell it was old as well. The onion rings are the frozen minced onion type, so nothing special. It's not hard to make fresh onion rings. The slaw portion was too large and had almost zero flavor. Although I was the only customer in the restaurant, the bathroom was not clean. Quality over quantity would be preferred. They have potential but should not...

They have quite a large selection of burgers to choose from. I went with Burger fest special.

Quite a good burger. The patty had a surprise of a nacho cheese bleeding through. The BBQ brisket ripped into many pieces was full of flavour, rich with fat but made a huge mess as it started to break down. It was also a bit spicy, but I've still enjoyed it.

The atmosphere is quite unique, so many different random things, makes it interesting to discover. I didn't really like the loud music that was playing non-stop. Hip-hop is cool, but it kinda distracts me from eating that burger!

Service was basically non-existent. Not sure if I should've ordered from a bar first, but regardless it would be nice to have some...

My second time here as I come to Vilnius. I can honestly say this is the best authentic bbq I've ever had. Twice in a row, and they just seem to get better.

I'll come here every time I'm in Vilnius. Without a doubt.
