Etno Dvaras — Restaurant in Vilnius

Weird. Potato pancakes do not deserve "ETNO" label based on the last experience of mine, my point of view... I have been eating potato pancakes for the entire life of mine made by my lithuanian grandparents, parents, other family members, friends, restourants, etc. They are always about to be the same in any lithuanian home, and the look and taste match about always in restourants respecting the quality of traditions. However, the pancakes I got at J. Kubiliaus g. 16, Vilnius on August 9th of 2020 at the end of the day were something weird. Never had such pancakes during my life, nor had the friend I was with. These were way too fat (in size), way too salty and the taste was also very far away from the traditional pancakes.. In other words, it was quite a mistake to order these - a waste of money, and a disappointment to the stomach... We left these unfinished after all. Other restourants of the same chain seems to be good (e.g. two ones in the old town of Vilnius, the one in old town of Klaipeda). I am not sure if this is the upgrade they did to menu recently or what, but oh.. I don't go for potato pancakes to that exact place anymore. I don't know about other food there, never tasted something else in that particular spot. Most of the times the quality is quite high within the chain, my impressions. But not the...

I just returned from Etno Dvaras on Kubiliaus 16. I would like to thank the waitress Maria for great service and very friendly communication. She made a relaxing atmosphere like at home. We had a wonderful evening after extremely nervous day. The food was also perfect, every dish was so tasty. We tried: Healthy lifestyle fans’ salad, Beetroot soup, Potato sausage, Potato dumplings, Homemade doughnuts. Thanks so much! I'll come back to this place...

Quite a nice atmosphere, pleasant service, but the food is low quality. Cold pink soup was good, however curd dumplings were based on flour and only about 15% of curd. Even the frozen ones from supermarket taste better. Potato pancakes with salmon also disappointing - made not from freshly grated potatoes, but of ready-made frozen base, fried and soaked in fat oil, thereby very greasy; salmon was dry and tasteless.
