my friend and i went to this place, because we were extremely starving after our little hike in vingis park and this place was a nearest place with more affordable prices.
food was neither bad, neither good, just ok, even quite mediocre, but we found comfort in that for some reason. i was extremely surprised that their sweet and sour “little cherry” chicken had actual cherries in the sauce. surprising! rice with eggs and vegetables were super oily, bit strange, but edible.
the waitress wasn’t very friendly, but at the same time she wasn’t angry or rude. just a neutral kind of person, who is feeling a bit tired – i think that’s understandable. we loved the atmosphere of the place – very liminal and strange. we felt like being in a smaller town rather than in the capital city. there were also older (from 2010s) hits playing in the background, but at low volume – strange upbeat ambience.
when we were eating three policemen came. but they weren’t there to solve any crimes, just to eat. also, accidentally i heard the conversation of other customers of the place, since there are not a lot of space. one kid (maybe 10 or 12 years old) was telling his family how he loves the eggplants here. he was very stoked to order them again this time also. hope he had a nice meal. he sounded excited.
over all, i think this dinner (or more accurately very late hangover lunch) was very fitting for our day, the place is probably not for everyone, has some flaws, but also has a comfort of some sorts. if i ever come back there again, i wish to sit in front of the mirrors, because today that table...
Read moreReally nice and cheap place to eat. Complex lunch, which last from 11am to 11pm cost 4€. It's pretty good, but not perfect. The soup of the day is always good. It was really hot, a bit hot. But at least it was not cold. Chicken with ketchup (tomato) sauce was also pretty good. The portion is huge. The chicken tastes really good with the sauce, though there was too much sauce and the sauce makes you really thirsty. The salad was good, maybe a bit too oily. Rice was like a good rice, tastes really goo with soy sauce. So in general, it's a really good place to eat a lot for cheap...
Read moreFor my taste it was perfect. Ofcourse food is not something you can be very objective towards since everyone has theor own taste, but for me the meals there are just the best. As for the place itself - its cosy and simple, not overcomplicated with eastern culture throw up that seems of the most importance for any other oriental food place Ive encountered. The only flaw would be the space - seems like too many people love this place for it to be very comfortable. Not a big...
