The River — Restaurant in Vianden

We were for a day trip to Vianden. After the ride we had a craving for a drink. this was the first terrace we encountered. nicely located and looked good. took a long time for staff to pick up. We had ordered 2 colas and 2 milkshakes for the 4 of us. They quickly came up with the 2 colas. thought they would bring milkshakes shortly afterwards. but after 25min of waiting came over to say that it came from the kitchen with the next delivery. again almost 25 min later still not. We put the 7 euros (for the 2 colas) on the table and left. We also wanted to see something of the town of course. the colas were also pale and did not taste like coca colas as stated on the menu (probably Pepsi, or diluted cola from vending machine). luckily other smaller terraces where we were well served in Vianden at...

I wish the waiters and management would see these reviews but clearly they do not care. The young waiter was lovely but the older one that actually serves us was not. He got my drink wrong and his moody behaviour and unfriendly attitude was so evident I didn't even mention it. So thankful we only had drinks.

Most of the waiters are Portuguese and it saddens me that they are clearly not happy (for whatever reason) because Portuguese hospitality is known throughout the world to be amazing. So disappointing!!

Senhores empregados, não sei as vossas condições de trabalho mas algo precisa de mudar.... e dizer asneiras na cozinha e a falar entre vocês com turistas à volta que podem entender também não é nada...

Had such a bad experience with this restaurant. Slow service and a disrespectful waiter. We asked about a portion of pancake as it stated on the menu list and suddenly the waiter was exploded because he said we were lying. He told us that he would call police and report us because we were lying meanwhile we were reading on their menu list. There was basically no problem at all but the waiter started those arguments out of the blue.

I wouldn’t recommend this place to anybody. I hope this place like to improve their service and their staffs in the future....
