B.A.D Cafe — Restaurant in Ampang Jaya Municipal Council

Really disappointed with the food. I saw good reviews from TikTok but it was from a year ago. I guess the quality dropped significantly from then on.

Pulled beef bagel (RM23): The bagel has 0 seasoning & not buttered at all. Mine didn’t have cheddar cheese!! The amount of pulled beef is so so little for the price I paid. The bagel was overpriced so I was expecting more but I was extremely disappointed. Pulled beef just tasted oniony and lacked seasoning. Didn’t taste great and was not worth it, especially for the price.

English Breakfast (RM26): Again, has no seasoning at all. The omelette tasted plain and all the other components just tasted like the ones you can find at the supermarket. The bread was really stale and tasted like cardboard. The vegetables weren’t fresh. Really disappointed.

Overall, for the price point, it really wasn’t worth it. The food was way below average 😓 We don’t mean to bring the business down but we feel robbed....

We had big breakfast, beef nachos and omelette with Ciabatta during our first visit, and we returned after a week for burgers and bagels. I was surprised when I had the first taste of the cream cheese they served with bagel, it was really well fermented,creamy and rich in texture,nothing like the cream cheese we get from the stores. It would taste exactly like the homemade cream cheese I grew up with if it was lighter on salt. I would definitely be having their cream cheese every single day for breakfast if I’m not lactose intolerant.

About the service,the ladies who work there did listen to my requests both times and I got what I asked for.

Food was actually good and worth the price. I love the focaccia and good quality hash brown too. Scrambled eggs cooked perfectly. Note that if you go here, there's no dine in space. (There's only a table) However, the service was terrible. Didn't get a picture of the food we ate because after 1 HOUR of waiting for our food, not in the mood to take pics of the food anymore. Plus, when we were there, the cook seemed to prioritize a group of people (came after us) and gave them food first. To add to that, the cook was busy making conversation with the people from the group rather than doing his job. A pity really, considering I would recommend the place if it weren't for...
