I was searching for Lempengs and Mak o Mak appeared because of the vicinity to where I was staying at the time.
We went here twice. The first time we had Lempeng with Sambal, and the Bihun Singapore. Both were tasty with adequate portions.
We decided to visit the place a second time, along with my mother in law in tow because the first time was a good experience.
This time, we had the Mee Bandung and Roti Goyang. My mother in law is a Mee Bandung snob because we were spoiled with the best Mee Bandung in JB. To hear her say that the Mak O Mak's Mee Bandung was tasty, had fresh prawns, and also with generous portion made me a bit proud because we introduced this place to her.
Price-wise, as is KL these days it's not the cheapest, but it's not the most expensive. I feel like we're paying a bit for the peace and quiet in the middle of one of the busiest areas in KL/Selangor and that's a bit of a worthy premium but not by much anyway.
Service was prompt and quick. Place was clean. I'm not afraid to recommend this...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI thought I had given feedback before but canāt find it. This is my weekend spot after a heavy morning of running. Itās ok, itās sometimes awesome, sometimes ordinary and sometimes eh .. what distinguishes a good restaurant is its food or service. The food is a variety from local to western and the seating area upstairs is good for a get together, toilet is clean! However I canāt forget this experience I had when I gave feedback that the sambal was too spicy because it wasnāt the week before so I thought they seemed nice enough for me to share my feedback, so I shared my experience and the guy at the counter said tak pedas lah kak, and I said it was for me and my kids sampai tak habis, and he still wanted to argue so I stopped. Anyways that aside food is okay and a variety, but I canāt shake off that one experience hence a 4 and not a 5. But do come by, apart from that bad experience , itās...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHad a great lunch here with my friends. Cafe-like ambience with authentic Malay food. Big portion for the main meal, however the add on lauk isnt worth it. We ordered Rendang Kerang as add on and the portion is small, full of the paste/gravy but very little kerang.
As for main meal each of us ordered different food. Mine was Beef Asam Pedas Set (with Nasi, Ulam and Telur Masin), the taste was good as the kuah is very pekat, beef pun banyak. A friend ordered The daging masak kicap set... maybe we are not used to it hence getting the masak kicap berkuah macam sup is a little bit weird for us š
The Mee Bandung is really big in portion, my friend says it good and while he is eating I can see big prawns in his bowl. Looks Nyummy! Another friend eats Sambal Udang Set and she was in love with it.
The staffs are very2 friendly and helpful. Really good service š...
