I recently had the pleasure of dining at a sushi restaurant in Kuala Lumpur that truly exceeded my expectations in terms of flavor, variety, and overall dining experience. Here's my review. Ambiance and Service: Upon entering the restaurant, I was greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The modern and sleek decor, coupled with soft lighting, created a pleasant and relaxing ambiance. The staff members were attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. They provided excellent recommendations and ensured that every aspect of my dining experience was exceptional. Sushi Variety and Quality: This sushi restaurant boasts an impressive array of sushi options that cater to all tastes and preferences. From classic favorites like salmon and tuna to more adventurous choices like sea urchin and eel, the menu offered an extensive selection of fresh and high-quality ingredients. Each sushi roll was expertly crafted, showcasing the chef's skill and attention to detail. The flavors were exceptional, with a perfect balance of fish, rice, and seasoning. Presentation and Creativity: One aspect that truly stood out was the presentation of the sushi. Each plate was a work of art, beautifully arranged with vibrant colors and exquisite garnishes. The creativity and attention to detail were evident in every dish, making the dining experience not only delicious but visually appealing as well. It was a delight to admire the artistry before indulging in the flavorful creations. Freshness and Hygiene: Freshness is of utmost importance when it comes to sushi, and this restaurant did not disappoint. The ingredients tasted incredibly fresh, indicating a commitment to sourcing the highest quality seafood. I also noticed the strict adherence to hygiene standards, as all food was handled with care and the restaurant maintained a clean and well-sanitized environment. Additional Menu Offerings: While sushi was the star of the show, the restaurant also offered a variety of other Japanese dishes that complemented the sushi experience. From sashimi and tempura to miso soup and teriyaki dishes, there was something for everyone. These additional options allowed for a well-rounded dining experience and catered to different preferences. Value for Money: Considering the impeccable quality, variety, and presentation of the sushi, I found the prices to be reasonable and reflective of the overall dining experience. While it may not be the most budget-friendly option, the exceptional taste and attention to detail made it well worth the investment for sushi enthusiasts seeking an unforgettable culinary journey. Overall, this sushi restaurant in Kuala Lumpur offers a memorable dining experience for sushi lovers. The delightful variety of sushi, coupled with impeccable quality, presentation, and attentive service, left a lasting impression. Whether you're a sushi connoisseur or simply looking to indulge in a remarkable culinary adventure, I highly recommend visiting this restaurant to savor some of the finest sushi offerings in the city.

Quite literally the worst fine-dining-esque experience i’ve ever had. Customer service is abysmal, you have to pay a deposit to book a table and place an order, and you only get informed of the availability of dishes afterwards - with no remorse at that. The chef and owner probably believes he is Marco Pierre White (even has a fake forced accent) and gets hostile if you were to even inquire about the food he’s prepared. In our case we were a bit hesitant about the doneness of the chicken and requested for it to be cooked more. The chef got defensive and instead of addressing the subject at hand thought he was being witty - he talked down at us thinking we dont know what a cooked breast vs cooked thigh looked like. He eventually with much reluctance took the plate away and prepared us a new dish… only to return it with a cross section of the chicken displayed as if to say “is it cooked enough now?” i suspect the only reason he is able to get away with committing in my opinion daylight robbery is because he is located in Melawati. Had he been operating in a location where more people are familiar with fine Japanese cuisine (and customer service) his doors would have been closed within a week. The Volcano Roll sushi he serves has what tastes to me (and overwhelming majority of my family) like Lingham sos cili in it - Im not a chef by any stretch of the imagination but it doesnt take a prodigy to discern this is a culinary crime worthy of a special premiere on Kitchen Nightmare. Chef is so arrogant about the food he prepares yet he doesn't even make his own sauces? Yikes The signature dishes Midori Izakaya so proudly puts on display (so proud that you get told off if you want to have it with wasabi) are in my opinion a perfect example of a failed fusion - combining worst of both worlds. The torched beef mostly tastes like Kewpie sesame dressing. Im not surprise if the yuzu sashimi just uses Kewpie Yuzu Shoyu as well. Id go so far as to vouch for Sushi King over this place

If there’s to be a hidden gem in Melawati it would be this place. Located in a quite alley is this small and unpretentious Japanese eatery, just like the ones you will find in Japan, offering delicious and good quality food. Ordered the Melting Salmon Belly from their ‘star of midori dishes’ menu and it was amazing. Will definitely go back to try the others on there. Also ordered the mixed tempura and the beef tepanyaki which came bento style and both were 5 star dishes. The beef wasn’t just tender but flavorful and leave you wanting more. The salmon sashimi and sesame cured tuna was also good but the spider crab temaki was so-so. Service was good but you may have to wait a bit for your meal as everything is made to order but the wait is definitely worth it and really it doesn’t take that long. All in all, food was value for money considering the quality and how good the food was.

Went there to celebrate my daughter's birthday. First time dining at the restaurant for 6 pax. Tried their menus a couple of years ago for delivery. The food were very good and tasty. Price is on the high side but expected for a Japanese cuisine.

Atmosphere - It is a small restaurant. Unfortunately does not have Japanese vibe (for us) at all. A bit dark with the dark green walls. My son spotted spider webs in the restaurant. My son and I had mosquito bites too under the table.

Service - good. Mind you, the order is done when you make reservation. And there is a security deposit of RM100. Food is made to order, hence the pre order. You don't have to wait too long for the order to arrive. These were our dinner on that night. Hot green tea x 1 - refillable Japanese cold green tea x3 - refillable Juice Rokka x 1 Ice Matcha Latte x 1 Torched beef x 1 - recommended Spicy butter prawn x 2 - good size portion Citrus sashimi tataki x 1 - very tasty. recommended Niku noodle x 2 - so so Beef tataki x 2 - recommended Teppanyaki Salmon x 1 - recommended Seto Island Oyster x 1 Teppanyaki Beef x 1 - mediocre

The total came to be around RM450+. We were happy with the dining experience and may...
