和源记 Wo Yen Kee — Restaurant in Borneo

Came on a Saturday morning and it's absolutely jam packed. Only shop in the area that is packed.

This place specialises in roast meats with roast pork, chicken, duck, char siu and also hainan style chicken. The chef used to be the roast meat chef in a big chain restaurant.

I had charsiu, roast pork and roast duck. The charsiu was tender and hints of sweetness. The roast pork - skin very crunchy and the meat juicy and tender. Roast duck looked a reddish and on the sweet side - I prefer mine on the salty side. A plate for 3 came with generous portions at RM43 (Bit pricey)

So the food is better than average. Apparently the nasi lemak is quite famous too. Will...

This place is legit! Their steamed white chicken is scrumptious and smooth. The chicken is "jagung ayam", so the meat is firm and they really know what they're doing. The sauce is perfectly done. Rice is beautiful too, not too hard and not too soft, the right balance. I'm definitely going to be a regular customer here.

2nd edit: Finally got the chance to try their char siew. The char siew is really soft even a baby can eat it. Best char siew...
