Missus and I stayed at the Pacific Sutera 7 years ago with 2 friends from Australia. It was a great hotel, and we had breakfast at Cafe Boleh everyday. They had a great menu choice then, with Western fare such as bacon and eggs, the eggs done to the individual's liking. Other choices included Japanese, Indian, Malay and Chinese, all excellent. However, we only had breakfasts there, not lunch or dinner.
We were recently there for lunch on 13th May 2024, the day after Mother's Day. We wanted to go on MD, but the prices were RM149.00 per head, so we opted for the following day where we could indulged in buffett for Retirees at Rm49 each.
Our group of 8 went inside and the staff welcomed and seated us. Again we enjoyed the ambience and the hospitality. The food choices were great, with Western food, local staples and a wide assortment of fruits and desserts to finish the meal.
I spoke to the Head chef and his no. 2, congratulating them for running a very professional restaurant. All our friends and family felt pleased with our choice of restaurant.
However less than 24 hours later, our opinions sharply changed. My wife and her brother had food poisoning, and another sister also felt ill! The rest of us felt lucky that we escaped unaffected.
This is very bad. Did they serve leftover food from the previous Mother's Day?
While the atmosphere at Cafe Boleh was really great, the staff friendly and professional, it will be a long long time before I can persuade my extended family to dine there again!!

However, my recent visit left much to be desired, as the meals failed to live up to my expectations. Perhaps the influx of tourists has taken a toll on the kitchen, as the food was not up to par, and even the top-ups were delayed.
Despite this setback, the staff were friendly and hardworking, going above and beyond to ensure our comfort. Unfortunately, a rude incident marred our dining experience. As we waited patiently in line for our turn at the scramble egg counter, the chief chef began to berate one of his cooks in Malay language, loudly questioning if the eggs were meant for humans or animals. His exact words are ‘Ini utk manusia atau haiwan makan?’.
This appalling behavior left a bitter taste in our mouths, as we held our plates in hand, wondering if we were even deserving of this chef's food. It is a sad day when a restaurant that prides itself on hospitality and fine cuisine allows such behavior to occur in front of its customers.
In conclusion, while the staff at Cafe Boleh are undoubtedly hardworking and amiable, I must caution prospective diners that their experience may be marred by subpar food and uncivilized behavior from...

Part of my breakfast ritual at Café Boleh is always a good cup of Tenom Coffee.
What truly sets Café Boleh apart, however, is the exceptional service.
This morning, when I went to get my Tenom coffee, I found the dispenser empty — clearly, I’m not the only one who enjoys it. Without hesitation, Darwin stepped in, encouraging me to enjoy my breakfast while he personally served a freshly brewed pot.
That simple yet thoughtful gesture speaks volumes about the service culture at Café Boleh. The team consistently delivers genuine hospitality, making every guest feel noticed and valued. It’s these small but meaningful touches that transform an ordinary hotel breakfast into a memorable experience.
Thank you to the entire team — you continue to make every visit feel like...
