Asiana Hotel is housed in Grace Square which is some sort of commercial complex in a residential area. Google Maps location pin is accurate. The place is only a few kilometers away from the airport. Planes to and from the airport fly this route so you can expect to hear the noise every now and then.
Asiana Hotel has an in-house coffee shop. Nearby and just within the commercial complex are 7-Eleven, a few restaurants, some food stalls and a supermarket.
Asiana Hotel's rooms are clean. The corner room that I stayed in has windows on sides facing the street. Heavy curtains are supplied so you don't have to worry about the room being too bright even in daytime. The mattress is comfortable, the blanket is big and the pillows are comfortable. Airconditioning can be better. The room is also supplied with an electronic safe and an electronic kettle. Glasses and cups are provided for use with the free bottled water and coffee. The comfort room has hot and cold shower and a hair dryer. Towels and basic toiletries are provided. Wifi speed is just okay and gets better once you get closer to the reception area.
Apart from the establishments within the commercial area, there is nowhere else to go by foot from Asiana hotel. All other places are only accessible...
Read moreChose this hotel because it was cheap and near the airport. I was arriving around 8pm and had a 6am flight next day, so up super early. The hotel lived up 100% to the billing.||||Cheap: Though the reception was very clean and was manned 24x7 the rooms were dirty, had paper-thin walls (could hear every conversation, cough, sneeze from adjacent rooms) with no coffee making equipment. To be fair, bedding was clean. Toilet / bathroom was a bit on the smelly side but functional.||||Near the Airport:||Literally at one end of the runway, about 200 metres to the side. Flights run through to about 3am (so reception told me). ||||Nearby:||Two small supermarkets, a few local food courts. Area described as Central Business District (CBD) - this made me smile, nothing nearby the hotel to suggest this.||||Overall then.....The UK phrase/advert "It does what it says on the tin" - If you too are looking for a very cheap, near airport hotel and don't mind the noise and grimy room then this fits the bill. I WOULD use this again in similar circumstances but don't expect entertainment/frills. Journey to/from airport is ten mins, can get pre-set taxi fares from Airport to Hotel but expect the usual mark-up from Hotel for arranging...
Read moreRoom 1: Smelled like mold and had urine stains on the unwashed blanket and sheet.
Room 2: We asked for a new room. It also smelled like mold, and had a large hole in the bathroom floor with ants swarming out of it. Unwashed bedding with urine stains.
Room 3: 3rd attempt, the staff said they had just cleaned it. We saw a huge cockroach in the room, and like the others it stank and was clearly unwashed.
Room 4: We gave up here. Unwashed, but no insects. The bed made our skin itch until we left the next day. There was deadly black mold festering in the bathroom, which gave me a sore throat.
The room window was unlocked when we entered as well, and even while locked felt very flimsy and easy to open. The neighborhood is a little sketchy, so that made us uncomfortable.
This business operates on fraud. The lobby looks wonderful, and their pictures show immaculately clean rooms, but once you step beyond the lobby it is a filthy pit of disease. They require cash upfront and do not allow you to see rooms first, so it feels like fraud to me. Their prices are not that cheap either - the room was more expensive than the gorgeous room at Hazzana Boutique we had the night...
