Came around 0745H and it was packed. The atmosphere is really nice and got that nostalgic feeling as their dishes were served in old school dishware.
Tried Nasi Pandan Daging Hitam but it's more like Daging Masak Kicap rather than Hitam (there's a difference between them). Nasi pandan was superb. Kolok with Wantan was okay. My friend kinda expecting it has soup, but it's fine. Ordered Teh C Cincau but didn't expect it would be served in a bottle and submerged in ice bucket like some kind of wine haha. Gu You coffee was nice. It has buttery taste but not too strong, and as a moderate coffee drinker, the coffee is acceptable for me. Last but not least, my friend ordered Cheese Toast (or something like that). Didn't expect it has a pineapple ring on top. Unfortunately the toast was the last thing they send to the table (we were already eating the main course when they send it to our table). I have no idea why they put a slice of cheddar cheese and call it cheesy toast. Perhaps my expectation was too high.
They accept almost all kind of payment cash, credit/debit cards, SarawakPay. Not sure if they accept DuitNow.
Overall, it was a nice place for breakfast. Foodwise, there's a room for...
Read moreVery busy place. Very clean. I love the décor of the place and the use of marble tables, old style plates and cups. Nice touch. It does bring back a nostalgic feeling of been back in an old style kopitiam.
The service is fast and efficient. Food came out quickly even though the place was full. I am surprised this kopitiam can fit in so many people. Maybe the trick is that they use smaller tables.
The toast was nice and thick with a generous serving of pandan kaya. The Mee Siam was a bit too plain and tasteless. The Sarawak Laksa was a big disappointment. It was too watery and not well strained so there were a lot of sandy texture to it. Not nice! Felt like eating noodles with sand in it. The kopi lacks strength.
I felt a bit let down with the quality of the food. Too bad it was not up to standard. Otherwise, I would have love to...
Read moreClean and bright environment. The workers were polite and quick to take orders. The tables were quickly cleared and properly wiped for the next customer. The food tasted good especially if you have a sweet tooth. However the food may take a while to be done. Depends on what you order and what is ordered by the, otber customers. It seems like they cook in batches nkt by table orders. So if many people order mee siam, your mee siam will be cooked faster. If you order rice like nasi lemak, it will be even faster because most of the items are already precooked. Beware, it is always fullhouse. However, you do not have to wait for long for a table. The customers are usually considerate enough to leave as soon as they finish eating their meals Average spent for breakfast per...
