We come to this non-airconditional foodcourt on 4 consecutive days to taste all the popular food here. It was quite warm even though during night time. There were smokers within the premises, but no food court staff would dare to warn them.
For food, ordering at the stall. Some stalls require prepayment, and some stalls collect payment when delivery.
For drink, self order, and payment at the centre counter, then collect at the next window.
Fish meat noodle was slightly above average. The soup was clear and flavourful. The fish meat was fresh and soft. RM9 per serving was valued for money. 4 stars
Famous super prawn mee was the greatest disappointment. The broth was too diluted and watery compared to other branches at air itam, waterfall, and burmah road. The ingredients were very stingy but selling at higher prices compared to other branches. RM9 per serving and added 2 pieces of spare ribs by topup another RM5. 2 stars
Fried chicken was mediocre. Nothing special. RM6 per 2 small pieces of chicken wings. 2 stars
Curry mee was slightly above average. The curry was thick, and the ingredients were ok. RM7 for serving and added RM2 for extra cockles. The taupok was delicious. 3 stars
Koay teow soup was slightly above average. Clear soup with great flavour. Minced pork was good. RM7 per small serving. Fishballs were mediocre. 3 stars
Sad clams with wine were outstanding. The string wine and ginger taste really surprisingly delicious. The clams were fresh. Everything was perfect and addictive. RM12 per serving. 5 stars
Kulim grilled fish and squid were wonderfully done. We ordered a middle stingray. It was so fresh. Every edge was grilled just nice and not burnt. The curry sauce was not too spicy and flavourful. RM30 per stingray with ladyfingers and vegetables. The squid was grilled even better. So tender and soft. RM20 per small squid. 5 stars
Rojak was one of the myst try dessert here. The sauce was thick with a twist of sour taste and special ingredient cardamom 豆蔻. RM10 per big serving was so satisfying. 5 stars
The curry rice with squid, prawns, and chicken at RM15 was valued for money. The curry was so flavourful and boosted up our appetite. But, the squid was not nice and should not be ordered, and if not the squid, then this would be another masterpiece. 4 stars
Tiger fried koay teow was poorly done. It was because the chef now was the son in law of Mr tiger and not Mr tiger himself. Lack of wok hei and too dry. 2 stars
Pro crispy pan cake was so nicely done. The peanut and corn version at RM3.50 was so addictive. Although the food should get 5 stars but the service was terrible and always forgetful about the sequence of delivery. 3 stars
HK cheong fun was mediocre. It's standard was worse than any dim sum stall. RM7.50 per serving, but the prawns were too small in size. 2 stars
Tua wang gong dry prawn mee was delicious at first few bite but it gradually become too salty but still manageable. RM9 per serving was justified by the generous ingredients. 4 stars
Pipa duck rice was delicious. The duck meat was juicy and tender. The skin was done well. The salted vegetable soup was ok. RM14 per serving was a bit pricey. Its standard dropped from my previous visit. 3 stars
There was only one food stall dim sum in the morning. Good dim sum with reasonable pricing. 3 stars
The drinks price was ok. RM1.80 for iced local black coffee thick version...
Read moreThis place has been our regular staple dinner choice. Free ample private carpark, drop off drive through in case there’s rain and plenty of big helicopter fan which is breezy as you dine sitting outdoor. Indoor seating depends on the area, some pretty hot. Avoid sitting near fish grilling stall if you don’t want to cough from the spicy grilling smoke.
Here’s what I’ve tried so far :
Tomato Sour Spicy Fried Fish Bee Hoon Soup ⭐️⭐️ Besides waiting very long for this with not much people order in queue, the soup were underwhelming. It is oily with garlic pork lard, not much taste of tomato despite it is quite thick and the bee hoon quite firm making it hard to chew or swallow.
Jawa Mee ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Thick gravy, generous portion and ingredients and I loved their aromatic deep fried crunchies! The only slight down part was I hope they include slices of potato to complete this delicious dish!
Mee Jawa Goreng ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Generous portion for small size noodles, it is not too dry and still has a bit of sauce coating the noodles nicely. Personally I would prefer the non goreng version.
Herbal Soup Chicken Drumsticks Mee Sua ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Strong herbal taste, generous goji berries given, chicken meat soft and not dried up, mee sua sometimes got pieces of clumping part and the soup had slight sour after taste which is a bit turn off.
Popiah ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Decent taste, its lack of something I couldn’t point my finger to it….🤨
Loh Bak ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ It’s the same stall from Big Crab Karpal Singh Drive. Fragrant deep fried shrimp cakes but the size too small for its price. Quite pricey overall.
Hokkien Mee ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Great prawn taste in the soup, normal portion and they serve super quickly so it’s great if you’re in hurry. The only downside of this dish is the soup is more of sweet base slightly bit much.
Deep Fried Fish Thick Bihun Clear Soup ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Noodle a bit hard, soup base tastes sweet and lot of msg feel but quite okay. Noodle given was quite in big portions however the fried fish were pretty...
Read moreThis place gives good vibes. It's huge, alfresco & provides a good environment for the young, the old, groups and individuals. On the side of the food court, is the unsheltered part. It has these big fans that cool the place & people. I think the new owners really gave much thought to making the place comfortable. Stall owners & workers are generally courteous & smiley. Perhaps competition is great for them there. Take for example, there are at least 2 western food stalls & 2 satay stalls I've discovered. If there are 80 stalls in total & all food choices are duplicated, there are 40 food varieties to choose from, which is more than what many food courts have. And I'm sure there isn't a duplicate for every food option at this food court. So you're talking about more than 40 varieties available! Even stalls offering the same food are cooked differently at different prices. Now where else would you rather be for food galore? But parking can be a problem from 7pm onwards. I have read repeated good reviews about the pork satay there. As satay is a favourite for my family, we tried it a heartbeat. This is my personal honest review. The meat is tough. On a subsequent visit, we tried out the other stall that sells satay & chicken wings. The meat on the skewers were the largest we've seen from all the places we've been to & prices are slightly higher, understandably. The stall is run by 3 people from Myanmar. The lady who takes orders & delivers them, is a smiley pleasant lady who communicated in perfect Malay. Their satay was tender & delicious. Will be...
