Arab Street — Restaurant in George Town

The food is exceptionally spectacular. My first time here and the shop immediately became my favourite once I ate the first bite of the Shawarma. The sauce, vegetables, spice, bread and the chicken was made perfectly. Not to mention the mandy rice and shawarma chicken was out of this world. As a person who ate plenty of mandy rice in his life, I have never eaten better mandy rice in my life. Nothing beats the fragrance, color and texture of the beautifully made rice. The garlic sauce and the boneless chicken is also a big recommendation. Apparently after talking to the staff, the garlic sauce was made by the shop itself! I guess its true when they say that you only find a miracle when you search by the street. Finally, the kunafa was so good, I thought that it fell down from heaven when I took the first bite. It was just great, and no words can express the deliciousness of this beautiful dish. The staff were also very helpful and on point when they explained the dishes. Not to mention their kindness and respect. Overall this shop was, is and will be the best shop that I have been to, and I am sure it will be for the reader too. I doubt that this shop can ever disappoint anyone. Saving up my money to bring my whole family here for a birthday...

Chicken shawarma (includes fries) was tasty, it's served with dipping sauce. Karak tea was nice, it is the same as masala tea according to the server. Actually wanted to try Bhai Biryani's biryani rice but it's not on this eatery's menu. (Arab Street and Bhai Biryani are related.) The friendly owner who went around asking customers about the food, explained that Bhai Biryani is his business partner's but he will let me sample some mandy rice which was just cooked together with some kebab chicken. The sample portion was generous, more than I expected. Overall 👍🏻. Scored big points in hospitality. Food took sometime to be served but server was helpful and pleasant. 10% service...

Food was good and not over salty, always appreciate such attention to the flavor. Ordered the shawarma chicken on mandy rice, chicken was well cooked and tender, rice texture is more like the glutinous type, but has good flavor to it. For the hummus, I'm surprised by how bland it was, and to me that's a good thing, cause I tasted hummus elsewhere and it was heavily flavored. The roti for the hummus however was a bit lacking, could use some improvement on the roti. Service was rather slow looking there were no one else besides us, so that could be faster as well. Lastly tried the kunafa, again it was not too sticky and not over sweet, recommend for those who never tried...
