As Malaysians, we often support local businesses. However, my recent visit to Blok 5 has left me questioning their commitment to customer service.
During my visit, the restaurant was nearly empty, with only our table occupied. Despite this, we were required to fill out a tiny order form instead of having our order taken directly. While I understand the importance of adhering to processes, it seems excessive when there are less customers.
To add to the disappointment, our cheesy fries arrived without the cheese. We had to return to the counter to request the missing topping. Additionally, the sticks to eat the cheese with (the lidi) provided were moldy, a clear indication of poor food hygiene. The kitchen staff's nonchalant attitude towards this issue was alarming.
Furthermore, there were instances of miscommunication and lack of attention to detail. Our order was not confirmed or clarified, leading to confusion and an incorrect order. The lady waitress unfriendly attitude make it worst for our dinner experience there.
The chicken were smaller than my palm.
Overall, my experience at Blok 5 was unsatisfactory. I hope they will take into account in improving things here and there if they want to sustain...
Read moreYou guys should definitely check this place out! I went to Blok 5 for dinner without expecting much and they surprised me. Service that exceed my expectations like eg. they serve baby chair without us requesting on the spot we arrived, initiative to wipe the chair before we put the baby down, even take the troubles to ask for feedback when we are done with our food. We went as a gang of 6 and ordered all categories of food, the nasi lemak was serve hot with crunchy anchovies, deep fried chicken breast pieces and still juicy! (That's very impressive for me), sambal is just enough spicy and the ingredients are just so at the right proportion. Spaghetti bolognese taste was equally good and the beef is just right. But the spaghetti was a little bit undercooked, just a little. Black pepper chicken chop was okay too, just char Koay teow portion was a little bit small portion for the price of RM7. Both nacho cheese (with and without bolognese) were good as well. We feedback all these to the waiter when he asked for feedback. Hehehe... We were satisfied and definitely will go back for the second and third time!
Well done, Blok...
Read moreMy first time at Blok 5, a short break in the gastrointestinal abuse on the way to Bayan Lepas Airport, I could safely conclude that this place deserves 5 stars. The place is set up under some big trees vicinity to the flats - hence the name Blok 5. The set up is pseudo warong-restaurant with a healthy choices on the menu including local cuisines like nasi lemak and western cuisine like lamb chop and spaghetti. We ordered several versions of the Nasi Lemak. The ayam crispy and udang crispy options. Both are reasonably priced. The portion is large, so if you're not a big eater, you'll struggle a bit. Taste is not bad and the chicken and shrimps were crispy as advertised. The lamb chops (single) was also okay. Portion was not big and it came with two scoops of mashed potatoes and one scoop of coleslaws. I wouldn't say it's the best lamb chops but what can you expect for such low prices. All in all, I would say it exceeds my expectations. The cheesy fries and cheesy nachos were both great and cheap too. Drinks are great too - at par with your...
