📍Lebanon, Tanjung Bungah
🍠Whether its authentic North Indian dishes, Lebanese cuisine, or a hot Western grill, it's DIFFICULT to find a better restaurant than Lebanon.
🌼This location is definitely on the PRICIER end, but there is good reason for it. Take a look at the exterior and interior; lush greeneries with intricately designed furniture make the place beautiful. The ambience is perfect for a special occasion, or a date. Everything is displayed with class. The service is great.
🥩When it comes to the cuisine, I've heard from friends that the perhaps the best grilled dishes in Penang would be in here; lamb, mutton, beef, seafood, you name it.
🌿A dish that CANNOT be missed is the ?Lebanese Salad with Humus (I can't remember the name of the dish, but it's AMAZING). A vegetarian dish, this was a delight my taste buds never experienced before. A beautiful mixture of homemade hummus, pomegranates, chips, and other condiments I am unsure of, it tasted heavenly. The texture of crunchiness with the smooth humus was indescribably amazing. This was surprisingly, to me, a dish I'd never forget. The thought of it is making me drool at the moment.
🥔The Potato Chicken Tagen, a Lebanese dish with tomato based gravy and chicken cubes, was most rich with flavour; juicy and tender cubes of chicken done up to perfection.
🍗I particularly enjoyed the Mandi Lamb. Somewhat having similarities to Briyani, the basmati rice in this dish was seasoned with spices, with the lamb grilled at its best. This is something I would certainly order again.

Read moreLast night was one of the most disappointing times of our time here in Malaysia, the multicultural nation that was accepting of all. I have always enjoyed going to this restaurant and have always visited there with at least 10 (or more) of our fellow expats. Although the restaurant is ‘dry’, in the past they had no issue in patrons bringing their own drinks. To the point where they even supplied wine glasses where needed. When we (11 of us) arrived for our 7:30 booking made the day before, we were told ‘Management’ has said we could not have wine. We asked when the change was made and we were informed since the end of Hari Raya, approximately two weeks. I would have been nice to be informed of this while making the booking. At that time, we considered leaving but the fact that we had arranged 3 taxis for us to get there it presented somewhat a logistics problem. But on top of that we decided to stay, as we all enjoyed the quality of the food. On that point, 6 of us ordered the same dish! When orders were taken the staff seemed that they didn’t care, the main meat dishes came out well before the rice and breads and just sat on the table cooling in the 16 degree air-conditioning. The six popular dishes were nothing like we had tasted previously and were way over spiced, to the point of losing the base flavor of the dish. So the bill is paid and when get home we examined the print out…… Low and behold they have even charged us for a jug of tap water and 2 buckets of ice!!! The staff were not rude but certainly not helpful or charming. Well I guess you got what you want, we won’t be...
Read moreUpdate: 4 years later, still great. Overall: One of my favorite places to eat in Penang. Great food, atmosphere and service. Yes a little pricey, but worth the cost. Food: A mostly Lebanese/middle eastern menu of dishes I can't spell. Tabbouleh, moussaka, vine leaves, chick peas cooked every way, flatbread, kebabs...Some Indian and western food tucked at the back of the menu. Everything is really good and i've never had a bad dish. Herbs and greens are very fresh and everything seems made to order. Veggie friendly: Yes. You'll have to make your dinner by ordering dishes off the starters menu, but it's all delicious and many are better than the meaty mains on offer. Price: Can be expensive, especially if you go for the 'lots of little things' approach. A kebab and chips can cost around 20-25RM. Starters can be 10RM per plate, so it quickly adds up. Dinner for 2 may be around 100RM. Service: Great. Not too pushy, there when you need them. Smiley and polite. Atmosphere: Just lovely. great little outside garden to sit it. Green and fresh. They also have a seated area indoors with air conditioning. The atmosphere is a little quiet and dimmed, so fine for a date. Outside they have large tables for a birthday or nice dinner with friends. Location: A bit far away from anything, round the corner on the Tanjung Tokong road. You'll need the 101 bus or a car. Amenities: Yes, toilets are clean. Must try: The moussaka. A little sweet, but...
