We had a mee udang rebus and bee hoon udang goreng, and while there were definite highlights, one significant concern lingered. Full marks must be given to the prawns; their exceptional freshness was truly outstanding. They blended harmoniously with both the mee rebus noodles and the bee hoon goreng, elevating the overall taste of each dish significantly. While the mee rebus gravy leaned slightly towards the sweeter side, which wasn't a major issue, what truly bothered me in the aftermath was the undeniable feeling of intense thirst, strongly suggesting the use of monosodium glutamate (MSG). This post-meal discomfort unfortunately detracted from an otherwise promising culinary experience. The ambience was average, as one might expect from a typical local eatery, and the price was certainly reasonable, especially considering the remarkable freshness of the prawns. Indeed, if only my thirst hadn't been such a persistent problem, I would have had absolutely no qualms with the mee rebus and goreng, particularly given the quality...

RM 140 total for 4 people (mee udang, prawn char kuey teow and crab mantou). You definitely cannot get this price in KL area.

We ate mee udang with 12 largish prawns on top. The prawns were fresh and I can peel the skin off easily.

Char kuey teow were good but does not reach the standard of an authentic penang one. The prawns on top were a bit crispy.

Crabs with mantou were good too. The mantou had a crispy bottom. The gravy was average-good in my opinion.

The drinks were nothing special. Service was average and it takes about 20 minutes for the meals to arrive.

Totally recommend this shop if you are staying near Shangri-la Golden Sands hotel (walking distance) for a delectable seafood meal. Just that you need to reserve a...

Overpriced, overrated food I ordered fried mee for RM25 for take away and asked for cutlery (fork only). The lady at the counter said we don't have as we already charge our food at cheaper price.

She is not happy and make noise from kitchen until i can hear them said out loud as if i did a crime asking for a fork.

Waited for more than 30 min to be exact 45 min. Because only 1 cooker. The other guys who sell water from same owner said they cook more order first. U only order 1. So have to wait. Meaning not first come first serve.

My turn is up. They lady just throw the fried my and gone.

Bad experience....

This is a Mee Udang cafe in Batu Ferringhi. It looks like it is new or newly renovated. The signature dish is there Mee Udang. The prawns are fresh, but the mee is in small portion. The cooking was a bit slow and we had to wait for at least 20 mins to get the noodles. The cafe also serves satay (which looks good) but we did not try on the day and we did not know whether it is good. It also serves Indian dishes, which was okay.
